Averages for Costa Teguise in February

Costa Teguise, Spain, is a purpose built town on Lanzarote’s east coast, designed specifically to encourage tourism on the small Canary isle. As the town is purpose built to meet demand, there’s a distinct lack of history here, comprising solely of modern resorts, lively bars, and sporty activities. Despite dating from the late 1980s, the development of Costa Teguise is still continuing.

The weather conditions in Costa Teguise in February are very similar to those in January. Temperatures, both air and sea, are on the cool side for the resort, but are still much warmer than elsewhere in Europe. Temperatures range from a particularly mild 14 degrees Celsius to a warm 21 degrees, and sea temperatures are roughly 13 degrees; perhaps a little chilly for swimming. Rainfall is high for the region at 30 mm, but rather modest in comparison to other popular destinations.

February is a great time for exploring the island’s capital, Arrecife, just 10 miles down the coastline. This is because Arrecife welcomes its annual carnival at this time of year which is well worth seeing. The carnival lasts for a whopping 12 days, with different events happening on different days, ranging from traditional music parades and costume competitions to Carnival Queen and Drag Queen crowning ceremonies. The final day of the carnival is celebrated with a spectacular fireworks display which can be seen for miles around.

Those looking for a delicious breakfast or a sweet treat should stop by the Brown Deli. The breakfast menu includes ‘gourmet’ bacon rolls and croissants, while coffee, cakes, and savoury dishes such as sandwiches and baguettes are served throughout the day. If you like the food, pop into the adjoining store to pick up some homemade chutneys and other produce. Can’t decide? No problem. Pick up a hamper filled with a range of items stocked in store.

H10 Lanzarote Gardens is a 3* accommodation complex offering rooms from £35 per night. The 242 apartments and bungalows all come equipped with kitchenettes featuring refrigerators, ovens, microwaves, and kettles, along with a range of cutlery and crockery. The complex includes swimming pools, tennis courts, and a spa, with evening entertainment for both adults and children.
