Climate of Nissi Beach

The balmy climate is typically Mediterranean with mild winters and dry, hot summers.

It is situated on the southern coast of Cyprus and has mountains bordering the north and south. Average temperatures for the entire area typically only reach 17°C for a high in January, and can dip to 7°C.

In contrast, June temperatures can reach highs of 30°C with lows averaging 20°C. Rainfall in the region can amount to an average of 73.5 mm in the month of December, while the driest time of year is usually August.

Nissi Beachâs Monthly Weather

January usually sees temperatures as low as 7°C but has recently experienced an unusually warm spell of 22°C.

The humidity is usually around 70%, which creates a comfortable atmosphere for its visitors. The rainfall for the month averages about 76.2 millimetres, which can affect about 13 days of the month. Those coming to the area at this time of year can expect about 8 hours of sunshine each day with very little cloud cover. The winds are minimal but they have recently reached wind speeds of 94 kph.

February weather is similar to January but there is usually a decrease in the amount of rainfall. The sunshine hours slowly begin to increase during February to an average of about nine per day. March brings more temperature changes to Nissi Beach as the thermostat slowly rises and the average rainfall decreases to nine days, while the daily sunshine hours increase to ten.

The months of April and May find temperatures steadily increasing and can reach highs of 27°C. During the night time hours, the minimum temperatures can drop from 12°C to 16°C. Both monthsâ average humidity is relatively low, which keeps the heat index at a comfortable level.

Nissi Beach experiences an increase of fog, which can hinder visibility for about two days during April and May, while the winds stay relatively mild. With the weather patterns changing all around the globe, Cyprus has experienced unusually strong wind speeds of 69 kph during May.

Throughout the months of June, July and August, the continually rising temperatures hit 40°C. The higher temperatures, coupled with the humidity, can cause some discomfort for some travellers and many need to use caution when going outdoors. Rain is usually not a factor at this time of year but the area can be shrouded in fog for as many as 7 days each month. Tourists can enjoy the maximum amount of sunshine with totals of about 14 hours each day, with rather mild wind speeds.

Although September conditions are similar to the previous months, fog no longer affects touristsâ visibility. October brings an increase of rainfall, which can affect about six days of the touristsâ stay. The temperatures begin to decrease, but not by much, and the sunshine hours also fade.

November and December bring more rain totalling as many as 12 days but the humidity is barely perceivable by visitors to Nissi Beach. The most noticeable difference during these months is the decrease of sunshine hours with no fog obstructions.

This area of Cyprus is a pleasant vacation spot for those who enjoy a peaceful setting but have close access to more lively activities.
