Port el kantaoui, Tunisia Flight Information

Port El Kantaoui is served by MonastirHabib Bourguiba International Airport, which is half an hour away, and Tunis-Carthage International Airport, which is one and a half hours away.

Getting to and from the Airport

Monastir Airport

Taxis are available round the clock.

Shuttle and car rental services are available in arrivals.

Trains are available from the airport to Sousse of which Port El Kantaoui is a suburb.

Tunis International Airport

Trains go from Tunis-Marine train station to Sousse. There are buses to the train station from the airport. Timetables are notoriously hard to get hold of though the trains themselves are modern and efficient.

Temperatures in the mid 20's with some high cloud, but mainly unbroken blue skies.

Only went to the beach once but was rather windy so maybe a bit early in the season perhaps.

Fantastic hotel called the "Golf Residence" which was clean and the staff were friendly and so very helpful,

Plenty to eat, not british food, but who wants brit food on holiday?

Kids eat well, enjoyed the pastries at breakfast and the sweets at evening meal. Great Indoor (heated) and outdoor pools (unheated) but once in soon got used to it.

Did take the trip to the Sahara, camel rides and four wheel drive trip across the desert, oasis's and mirages fantastic, 1100 km trip but plenty of comfort stops and air conditioning on the coach, sad to see all the litter but you get used to it.

Weather not too bad this year with temperatures about 16 to 22 degrees Celsius but in January you do need a light jacket at night,

Day's can be windy but we always have a great tan.

Holiday

Brilliant Christmas and New Year was very good.

Our hotel, the Kanta, have very good staff and always have a smile.
The grounds are very well maintained.
A new servery was being installed which looks very up to date.

When we went at the end of May, beginning of June, the temperature never dropped below 90 degrees. Just a bit breezy

Great service in the hotel: we are going back next year to the same time same hotel. Basic but clean rooms. Some folk moan about the types of food available, but we never had any complaints

Weather very warm: low 30s even on couple of cloudy days.Lovely breeze on beach when too hot by pool.

Quiet holiday as expected. Second time in two years.

We stayed in Kanta Resort in Port El Kantaoui and well pleased. Everyone very friendly, excellent service throughout hotel.

Marina very nice for evening stroll

Weather really hot in Aug 2009. Really enjoyed Tunisia - booked to go back Sept 2010. Long hot days and beautiful warm evenings. Warm enough at 2am to swim in sea !!

Brilliant holiday - booked to go back in Sept 2010 - cant wait, medina fantastic, wonderful experience - camel rides really good, as was quad biking. Loved trip on pirate ship - jumped into sea from boat brill day !!
People lovely and weather faultless.

The weather was just right to sit by the pool or walk along the beach for miles with a nice sea breeze.

Holiday

We had a lovely relaxing time which was extended due to the volcano ash. We stayed at the Green Park Hotel and couldn't find fault with it or the staff. Once you get used to bartering with the shop owners and learn how to be firm when saying no we had a great time. We have already booked to go back next year.

We went to Kantaoui for two weeks in October for the first week the weather was very nice and warm but the second week wasnt so good.

In the morning it was lovely but come 12pm the clouds came over and that was it for the day!!

Our holiday over all was good. The marina looks lovely apart from all the people trying to get you into their shops!

We stayed in the Mahabra Palace Hotel. When we booked it we were told that it was a nice and quiet hotel and was in a very nice part of Kantaoui, but when we got there we didn't reailize just how quiet it was!!

During the day there was nothing at all to do in the hotel and theres only so many times in 2 weeks you can walk down to the marina!

Having now been home for nearly a week and having now had time to think about the holiday over all I would go back to Kantaoui but it would be some time before I do!

As for the hotel, if you are just there to sit by the pool and sleep at night I wouldn't recommend it! i wouldnt stay there again.

The hotel just over from the Mahabra Palace is called Green Park and from what we could hear from our balcony there is loads to do! Always music on at the pool and loads of games going on!!

The weather was absolutely fabulous, great and gorgeous!!!

I had a great holdiay in Tunisia. 14 days wasn't long enough! I will definately go back to Tunisia. The people are warm and friendly.

The Tuc Tuc is a must (a horse &cart ride to the towns/villages). The Irish Pub, a great night out.

I would recommend Tunisia to anyone who doesn't want a "typical" British holiday. Wish I was there now!!!

TUNISIA IS A FANTASTIC HOLIDAY TO RELAX. NICE PEOPLE FOOD IS FANTASTIC IF YOU KNOW WHERE TO GO AS WE DO. GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY. GREAT WINE. DONT USE THE TOUR OPERATORS FOR TRIPS THEY WILL RIP YOU OF. YOU CAN TRAVEL ALMOST ANYWHERE ON VERY CHEAP PUBLIC TRANSPORT TRAINS ARE GREAT. DONT COME TO TUNISIA IF YOU JUST WANT BRITISH THINGS. YOUR BETTER OF GOING TO BENIDORM AND STAYING THERE THANK YOU VERY MUCH. LOTS OF THINGS TO DO IF YOU CAN BE BOTHERED TO GET OF YOUR BACKSIDE AND EXPLORE.WE LOVE THE PLACE, GOING BACK IN JUNE HOORAY.

Glorious weather , sunny and warm but comfortable to be out and about .
Evenings and nightime much cooler although I never wore a jacket .

Holiday

I travelled as a single person for the first time this year and found everyone courteous and helpful .
I stayed in the Occidental Allegro about Sofiane and the staff were fantastic .
I will be returning there as being on my own was not a problem .
