September in Marbella, Spain will see the crowds start to thin, but the weather remains very pleasant.The average temperature, average highs and lows, average sea temperature and average sunshine hours all decrease from August. The average rainfall increases, but this should not be an issue for your holiday.

The average temperature throughout September is 22°C (72°F). Average highs rise to 26°C (79°F) and are mostly experienced in the last ten days of the month, with the beginning of the month seeing daily highs get up to 29°C (85°F). Average lows go down to 17°C (63°F) which are also mostly seen in the last ten days of the month, with the beginning of the month seeing daily lows get up to 21°C (69°F). September as a whole experiences falling daily highs with only one day in ten going over 33°C (92°F) or going under 23°C (74°F). Daily lows only go under 13°C (56°F) or go over 23°C (74°F) every one in ten days. 

The average rainfall experienced in September is 15mm, which is the fourth lowest for the year. This translates to on average 3 days of rainfall or every 1 in 10 days. Things to do

For an interesting way of seeing Marbella and the surrounding area take a tour with Buggy Safari Marbella. The buggies provided have two seats and you will make your way through endless trails in the woodlands, head through the valleys and truck through shallow rivers. The focus is on customer satisfaction and they try to cater to any requests by customers.

Keen – and novice – golfers should head to Los Naranjos Golf Club. Here, there is only one rule, relax and have a good time. The course is playable by walking or driving a buggy (minimum age 18 or valid license). Rounds here last about four hours and ten minutes. This course has hosted the Spanish Cup and is one of the best courses in Spain.

Hit the beach

Head to Playa Nagüeles for a truly exclusive beach. Located in Marbella’s golden mile right in front of the best luxury hotels in the area. This beach is also home to some of the best restaurants and beach clubs. It is definitely worth a look as there is a stunning backdrop of high mountains while the Mediterranean is at your feet. Here you will find everything from yacht charters to sun loungers.

Eating & drinking out

Momo Marbella provides the perfect option for a romantic night out. The cuisine has a modern and international flare along with an extensive wine list from all over the world.  You will not be disappointed with a very friendly staff providing excellent service. A couple notable menu items include the caramelized beef salad, pan-fried sea bass and Chinese wok noodles with mixed peppers. You will have plenty of options for dessert including a chocolate brownie served with ice cream.

A must visit Italian restaurant is Aragona Cucina Italiana. This restaurant takes a healthy approach to their Mediterranean style cooking and are the only restaurant in Marbella to offer 100% gluten free dishes. You will find items such as chickpea cream and prawns, beef steak with pepper sauce and tiramisu for dessert.

Marbella City Half Marathon

21st September 2015

The Marbella City Half Marathon is held every year on the last Sunday in September. The race starts at 10:00am at the Palacio de Congresso and takes 2,500 runners along the city's picturesque sea front. The scenic route includes Marbella's port Puerto Deportivo de Marbella, Paseo Marítimo, and Puerto Banús. Join the locals and support the runners by cheering them on as they head for the finish line.



Feria de San Miguel Torremolinos Fair

29th September 2015

Every year around September 29th, the nearby town of Torremolinos holds the Feast of San Miguel, celebrating the patron saint San Miguel - the warrior and protector. Festivities include colorful parades, a children’s fair, delicious foods like paellas and tapas, flamenco dancing, and drinking in the streets.
