February Weather Averages

Sorted by popularity:

What's the weather like in Koh Tao in February

Koh Tao is an idyllic little island located off the east coast of Thailand, close to the larger islands of Koh Phangnan and Koh Samui. Though it covers an area of just 21 km², the island has become a popular tourist destination in recent years thanks to its world-renowned diving spots, its paradise-like scenery and its beautiful weather.

Climate

Like the rest of Thailand, Koh Tao has a sub-tropical climate that's generally hot and sunny, but with rainy seasons dictated by the monsoon winds. Luckily, February is part of the island's dry season, which makes it one of the most popular months to plan a trip. In fact, it is the driest month of the year and sees tourists flock here to enjoy the beautiful weather. Rainfall is at its lowest at 39mm with only 4 wet days throughout the whole month. There's only a 13% chance of rainfall, so there's plenty of opportunity for holiday makers to hit the beach.

Temperature

The dry season is also one of the coolest and least humid in Koh Tao, though even in February the weather is hot compared to British standards. The average temperature is around 26°C with highs that often reach 29°C at their peak. Nights offer a little relief, with low temperatures of around 23°C.

Sea Temperature

Average sea temperatures still remain at their lowest for February. However, at 28°C the water is definitely warm enough for swimming or enjoying Koh Tao's most popular water activity diving.

Sunshine Hours

Sunshine levels stay consistently great all year round in Koh Tao (the island experiences over 300 days of sunshine a year) and February is no exception, offering an abundance of bright and sunny weather. With an average of 8 sunshine hours every day, Koh Tao is the ideal place to sit back, relax and soak up the rays.
