Weather Overview for Costa Teguise

Costa Teguise is situated on the southeast corner of Lanzarote- one of the Canary Islands. It is a purpose built resort that is the smallest and most recently developed of Lanzarote’s three main resorts. Purpose built brings thoughts of extreme tourism, however Costa Teguise manages to uphold a lovely homely feel to it which leaves you forgotten you are in a resort built solely for tourism.

 
The resort is characterized by an enjoyable Mediterranean climate of mild conditions year round and no real temperature extremes. Best visited in the summer months to make the most of lying on the beach and tanning, it can also be enjoyed in the shoulder seasons as you will not be in the presence of hoards of holiday goers.

 
Costa Teguise is a popular windsurfing resort as it has a tendency to be windier than other resorts on the island. The winds though can provide a welcome break from the summer temperature highs.

 
Lanzarote’s capital of Teguise is only a 10 to 15 minute drive away from the resort town, which is a great escape if you want to leave the hustle and bustle of Costa Teguise. Keep in mind that Teguise’s famous Sunday markets run weekly, so don’t plan you’re escape on a Sunday as you’ll be met with just as many tourists!

Summer

June to October is the resorts hottest months. June and October both witness an average daily temperature of 22°c and July sees an average of 23°c. The peak summer months of August and September have daily averages of 25°c and 24°c respectively. 

 
June through until August each record no rainfall on average, with only 2 mm precipitation meausured in the months of May and September.

Winter

By October rainfall has picked up to a still low 6mm, rising to 15mm by November before reaching the resorts wettest months of December and January which record, on average 25 to 26mm of rainfall.

 
The winter months of December to February see a pleasant average high of 20 degrees and an average low of an enjoyable 14 degrees. The mercury begins to rise in April, which records an average high of 22 degrees, before reaching 23 degrees in May.
