Weather Overview for Verona
Summer, from June till September, can get very hot. With
average highs around 29°C in July, it can potentially be much hotter and become
stifling. In June and September temperatures are more pleasant in the mid 20s,
experiencing refreshingly cool nights. The season can expect a reasonable
helping of sunshine and rainfall is low, as it is throughout the year, though
thunderstorms are to be expected, increasing in frequency with the progression
of the season, as the heat and humidity rise. August sees the majority of the
thunderstorms, after which they tend to relent. Some may find
Autumn, in October and November, sees temperatures cooling
rapidly from the low 20s at the start of the season, to below 10°C just before
winter. While the beginning of October can be very pleasant, it begins to get
cold in the middle of the month. November sees an average high of 11°C and an
average low of 3°C. The sun becomes shy from October onwards, coming out for
five hours a day at the beginning of autumn. By November it is positively
paranoid, peeking round the clouds for a measly three hours per day on average.
Rainfall does not change much throughout the year in
Winter, from December till February, sees a continuation of the sun’s timidity, only beginning to recede in February when it manages an acceptable five hours again. Precipitation is actually lowest during these months though snow does fall, not usually settling for very long. Fog and frosts are common causing havoc on the roads. The average high temperature gets down to 5°C in January, the coldest month, which sees average lows of -2°C.
Spring, from March till May, sees a rapid increase in temperatures. The average high temperature in March is a chilly 13°C, sliding up to a mild 17°C in April and a pleasant 22°C in May. Night times remain very cold; March sees an average low of 11°C. The sun regains its confidence over the period and by March flaunts itself for a healthy eight hours a day. Rainfall is moderate.
