Our Holiday in Parga

Apparently the period we went (20/09/12 -04/10/12) was supposed to be cooler, but luckily for us it was in the 30's so it was down to beach every day of our holiday.
Holiday
It was super: the location we were in Aliki studios was ideal, 10 minutes from the town centre and within easy distance of three really fab beaches. The town has apparently 64 tavernas, so you are spoilt for choice.

Weather
Weather very good and consistent. Probably an average high of 30 degrees during the week. Humid at night.
Had one thunder storm which lasted about an hour.
Sea was warm and safe to swim in.Holiday
Plenty of restaurants; menus and prices very similar.
Seem to be a lot more Greek holiday makers than Europeans.
A main meal for three people with drinks was costing around 40 Euro. The cheapest we got was 24 Euro for a set menu in one of the pizzerias.
Portions are a good size and fresh seafood is abundant and not that expensive.
Dokos Taverna also provides free wi-fi and are very accommodating to staying open. They even asked if we'd like to stay for the Olympic 100m final even at nearly midnight, with only five people there.
Johnny's Bar was another we frequented. Cheapest beer in Parga and does snacks and cakes. Also has free wi-fi and was constantly providing different nibbles, whether it be crisps nuts or pastries.
Not much to do for young people at night club wise; a few cocktail bars, but these seemed expensive at five Euro a drink.
Only thing that annoyed me after a while was the hawkers on the beach and the staff trying to get you into Restaurants.
Traffic is a bit mad and can come from anywhere including the pavement. There just doesn't seem to be any rules. even when hiring scooters or buggys I don't think you needed a license but I may be wrong on this and wouldn't risk it over there anyway.
The venetian catle is worth a look and it also accesses Voltos beach but is a stiff climb especially in the heat, even a night.Recommend Parga to others?

My best holliday for a very long time

Weather
Perfect, around 33 degrees but the breeze was there most of the days,We were in a party of eight people, one of eleven years old,one of thirteen,four boys of seventeen,my hursbant and i and everybody found the weather perfect.
Holiday
Perfect,flights on time,accommodation very good,food and entertainment excellent.Our son and daughter had friends with them,and all of them really loved it.

Scorching hot at the moment. Forecast says 33 but local thermometers in the cooler shade are saying 38!! In the sun its more like 42 plus!
Holiday
Fantastic! Still out here, sat by the pool in our hotel. Lovely pool and it's festival time tonight which is celebrating the names day of Virgin Mary, the church on the small island of Panagia which nestles just off the harbour of Parga.

Weather was hot hot hot all week, past 30 degrees, not a cloud to be seen. Night time can get a bit sticky but only to be expected, options of air con in rooms, alternatively a fan with a bottle of water sometimes helps also

Fantastic holiday. first time to Parga and definately wont be the last. As its a Greek resort it adds to the enjoyment
We stayed at the Maria and Eleni apartments above Valtos Beach area - some people may think they are a bit out of it but it is only a nice 20 minute stroll to the town, coming back works the legs a liitle more but not too much a problem, though if your not used to that then it could be
A|partments excellant views, very clean, 2x pools, all friendly people there
We did lots of exploring as listed below. Nightlife depends on what you want, if you require pumping music, go elsewhere, very relaxed atmospheres in all bars.
drinks varied from 2 to 4.5 euros for a 500ml draught lager
bottles from 2 to 4.5 euros dependant on type, just need to look around
Food excellant. Place very clean
Overall best place we have visited and we have done a fair few islands and areas on the mainlandRecommend Parga to others?

The weather in Parga was glorious in the first couple of days we had a little bit of thunder late afternoon or early evening but no rain.
Three days in the first week it was 40 - 45 degrees then went back to its normal heat of around 35 degrees, second week we had the same again three days at an exceptional heat then back to 35 degrees on the days it was very hot you could not stay on the beach it was easier to stay around the apartments and spend time in the pool and keep cool.Holiday
We stayed at the Epvalis Studios the family who run it are very nice and they look after you during your stay.
We enjoyed Parga very much, very pretty,beaches were lovely. plenty of restaurants and bars, we spent some nights in the rock bar it is situated on the small street that takes you to the harbour front. that leads you to the anchor which seems to be the focal point for you to get your bearings. we would return to Parga in the future and go back to the Epivalis studios.Recommend Parga to others?
