September is a relatively quiet month in terms of events, not only in Los Cristianos but also the rest of Tenerife.
The Fiesta del Santisimo Cristo is a special religious event that takes place every year in the middle of September. The festivities include a popular Folklore Music Festival held in San Cristobal de La Laguna.
Things to do
Siam Park is a fun, all-day family attraction that offers rides, games, a surf school, a wave pool, and some educational information about the empire of Siam. When it’s a blistering hot day (which can still happen in September) this is a superb way to cool off! Siam Park also features a number of restaurants, bars and ice cream kiosks for the whole family to enjoy.
On the other hand, those who enjoy outdoor exercise at home will find September a great time to hike or bike in the nearby mountains as the weather tends to be a lot more comfortable at this time of year. There are an array of biking and hiking tour operators located throughout the island that can offer a variety of excursions. One of the most popular is Tenerife Bike Training, run by the Delgado brothers who provide tours for all abilities around Teide National Park and along the coastline of Tenerife.
Whale watching and dolphin watching are also common activities during this time of year. Tenerife is in fact one of the top three whale and dolphin watching destinations in the world. The area surrounding the island is teeming with marine life, including bottlenose dolphins, pilot whales and up to 24 other species migrating through the Atlantic Ocean, passing the Canary Islands! There are a variety of tour operators around the island, as well as from the bay of Los Cristianos. If you are in the area make sure to look out for the Lady Shelley boat that embarks from Los Cristianos on whale and dolphin watching excursions.
Also, there are at least 9 golf courses on the island and many more on surrounding islands. Las Americas is the nearest golf course to Los Cristianos. The course features a varied itinerary with 18 holes and scratch par of 72. This stunning course boasts a series of lakes, streams and waterfalls to make your way around. At the end of the day you can also enjoy the onsite clubhouse, bar-cafeteria and pro-shop.

Where to eat & drink
There are a number of Spanish and Canarian restaurants located in Los Cristianos and most of Tenerife. Tasca Casa Paco serves up a mouthwatering array of fresh Spanish classic dishes including succulent steaks and locally caught seafood.
Another restaurant to try with a superb reputation is Meson Castellano. This simple Spanish eatery is located on the border of Los Cristianos and Playa de Las Americas. The menu offers an array of Spanish specialities including chorizo and a selection of local meats including steaks.
The Terrace Bar is situated in Amarilla Golf and offers a wide array of delectable dishes made from fresh, local ingredients. Choose from a variety of meats, fresh seafood, Canarian specialities, Italian pizzas, but don’t worry if you don’t eat meat as they also offer a plentiful list of vegetarian options.
Taylor’s Lounge is one of the most popular sports bars in Los Cristianos. This well-established and recently refurbished bar offers an outdoor terrace as well as a total of 19 flat screen TVs! They show a variety of live sports including football, golf, cricket, boxing, tennis and rugby.
Hit the beach
Los Cristianos’s beaches are still quite active in September, and all the beach-related activities one would expect to find are up and running: jet skiing, banana boat rides, and windsurfing.
In addition, Los Cristianos takes great pride in its scuba diving excursions because the water surrounding the island of Tenerife is extremely clear and provides for some truly amazing underwater experiences.
Playa de las Vistas is one of the most popular beaches in the area. This sandy beach offers sun beds, parasols, a promenade and special walkway which is ideal for disabled access. Along the beachfront you will also find a number of beaches, cafes, bars, shops and more!
