In Gumbet you can take in the sights and
sounds that you would expect of a typical resort town. There are beautiful long
white sandy beaches, plenty of activities to take part in, a range of 5 star
hotels and resorts and an electric night life at which to let your hair down.
Summer in Gumbet really begins by late May, the mercury begins to rise, the sun begins to shine more brightly and the tourists begin to stream in. June and September see average daily temperatures of 29 and 30 degrees, respectively, while the hottest months of July and August see average daily temperatures of 32 degrees. It is not uncommon for the barometer to sit in the mid 30’s throughout the height of summer to be sure to come prepared with plenty of sunscreen and a beach umbrella!
Like most Mediterranean climates, the majority of the rain falls during the winter months, Gumbet is no exception. Rainfall is very scarce during the summer months and doesn’t begin to pick up until about October- so you best escape from the heat is by diving in the beautiful warm waters of the Med or lying in you air-conditioned hotel.
Winter in Gumbet, December to February, sees average daily temperatures of about 12 to 14 degrees- it is pretty rare for temperatures to see below 14 degrees for an extended period of time, so even if you choose to visit in the off season you can still be sure to receive plenty of beautiful weather.
Gumbet has more to offer than just amazing Mediterranean weather. Being an almost completely self contained resort you are bound to find something to tickle your fancy. It’s not all just sunbathing and jet skiing, you can enjoy the historical ruins in the region or visit one of the many museums- the Museum of underwater archaeology being one of the best ones. Or if you choose to leave Gumbet you can take a day trip to near by Bodrum and take in what the bigger town has to offer.
