A small island located off the east coast of the Neapolitan Riviera, Capri boasts some of Italy’s finest beaches and spectacular coastal landscape. Vacations in Capri are popular at almost any time of the year, particularly during the warmer months. Capri features a typical Mediterranean climate with long, hot summers and short, mild winters. Capri however, has much more to offer than beautiful beaches and relaxed coastal towns so if you feel the need to tear yourself away from the magnificent beaches, the island offers sights of incredible Roman ruins and many other ancient highlights. The luxury of attractions and sights available in Capri makes this island a favourable year round holiday destination.

Spring

Similar to many other resorts located in the Mediterranean, spring is an ideal time to visit as the summer crowds have not yet developed and daytime temperatures are most enjoyable. March and April see climates averaging at a pleasant 15ºC while May features highs of 22ºC or higher. The months during spring will provide assured sunshine as rainfall levels start to decrease throughout April to May. The springtime in Capri see many visitors enjoying the great beaches over an Easter break.

Summer

Because of the idyllic scenery, beautiful beaches and satisfying climates, many tourists choose to holiday to Capri throughout the summer months. July and August will commonly see high temperatures of 28 ºC and an average of ten hours of warm sunlight each day. Given Capri is a relatively small island, cooling sea breezes are present year round lowering the daytime summer temperatures to a more comfortable level. With temperatures of 19ºC after nightfall the island of Capri releases a very relaxed atmosphere with a welcoming al fresco lifestyle in all its resorts. Rainfall is almost unheard of during the summer months; therefore the chance of a bypassing storm ruining your vacation is very rare.

Autumn

There is always a good reason to consider taking a vacation to Capri outside of the peak season as temperatures and sunshine hours remain high and rainfall is still fairly rare. September or October propose a great vacation with highs in the low to mid 20’s and sea temperatures still warm enough to bathe in.

Winter

Never failing to keep an appearance for the winter, Capri is famous for its wild flowers known to impress visitors year after year. As temperatures begin to drop wintertime is perfect for hiking on the coastal paths or evening strolls. Although there is a greater chance of rain during the cooler months, the sun is usually still out for four or five hours each day.
