Amadores enjoys a warm, dry climate with little seasonal variation in temperature. The new resort with its man-made beach sits on the south coast of Cran Canaria; this side is much warmer than the north during the winter. The Canary Islands are part of Spain but they sit far south of the mainland near the west coast of northern Africa.

Summer, between May and November, is pleasantly hot and very sunny. The average high temperature moves up through the 20s to a peak of 26°C in August. The average low temperature gets down to the mid teens at the beginning and end of the season but during the peak months it can stay up near 20°C. The steady, northeast trade winds help to make sure the heat never becomes uncomfortable.

Rain is virtually absent between May and September after which it begins to increase. A few short, heavy showers can be expected from September, getting heavier towards the end of the season. The start of the season is sunnier than the end, peaking in July at ten hours per day. The rest of summer is still very sunny apart from November when sunshine levels get down to six per day. The sea temperature is always warm enough for swimming but peaks in September and October at 23°C.

Winter, from December till April, is very warm with the odd shower. January and February are the coldest months but they still see average highs of 18°C and average lows of 17°C. This is not quite warm enough for a typical beach holiday but some days will be warm enough to get a bit of skin out. Rainfall levels do not change for December and January but fall in February. Showers are infrequent and unlikely to cause prolonged interruptions to your holiday. Sunshine levels are great for winter in comparison to the UK. December and February see six hours per day but after this the sun becomes increasingly brazen, staying out for a whole nine hours per day by May. The sea is warm enough for swimming.

The resort benefits from its southerly position and the surrounding water. This ensures warmth while avoiding extremes. However, proximity to Africa sometimes puts the Canaries in the path of the sirocco: a hot, dry sand bearing wind that originates in the Sahara. This can cause a hazy sky, drop dust and push temperatures up to the mid 20s in the winter and the low 30s in the summer.
