2013 is set to be an exciting year for SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment in Orlando, USA, with the launch of two new attractions inspired by two of the world’s most fascinating continents: Antarctica and Africa. Antarctica – Empire of the Penguin opens at SeaWorld Orlando on 24th May 2013, while Madagascar: Operation Vacation, Madagascar’s favourite characters head to Busch Gardens Tampa in Florida for a new musical show.

Explore the frozen wilderness through the eyes of a penguin…

Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin will transport families into a rarely seen, icy world. Visitors will feel the majestic grandeur of the South Pole and see it through the eyes of a penguin on an exhilarating, first-of-its-kind family ride. Guests will also explore a massive penguin colony, including King, Gentoo, Adelie and Rockhopper, in an expanse that envelops them in cool extremes, both above and below the penguins’ icy world.

Adventurers will be able to choose one of two thrills levels to experience the Antarctica – Empire of the Penguin ride. This will allow the whole family to enjoy the attraction at their own pace. Designers say each level has multiple variations for a feeling of unpredictability, just like the continent of Antarctica. The combinations of ride experiences include mobile, moving simulators and a completely trackless ride – a theme park first.

Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin will introduce a new SeaWorld star– a young gentoo penguin named Puck. The adventurous penguin hero becomes the ride’s guide and leads guests on an exciting journey through the dangerous, yet wondrously beautiful landscape of the Antarctic.

SeaWorld executives have stated that Antarctica will be an all-new “realm,” rather than a single attraction. The realm will include the ride, penguin habitat, gift shop and restaurant.

Dance and sing with Marty, Alex and all of the Madagascar characters…

The new highly acclaimed live musical show Madagascar Live! Operation: Vacation is heading to popular theme park Busch Gardens Tampa in Florida. This original show featuring the characters from DreamWorks beloved Madagascar franchise, will premiere at Busch Gardens on 18th May 2013.

Celebrating the box office success of Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted, which has grossed more than £462 million at the worldwide box office, Alex the Lion and friends will party with guests at Busch Gardens throughout 2013.

The 20-minute musical show, free of charge to guests with standard park tickets*, follows the antics of Alex the Lion, Gloria the Hippo, King Julien, Mort and the Penguins during a holiday adventure. The show will feature rock/pop music performed by a live band and include both classic and original songs, with the characters also conducting meet and greets with park guests. Additionally, special co-branded merchandise exclusive to the parks, will be available.
