Weather Overview for El Gouna
Situated on the eastern coast of Egypt and although located only four and a half hours from the UK; the typical climate of El Gouna couldn’t be more diverse. With everlasting clear, blue skies and continuous hours of hot sunny temperatures, combined with soothing coastal breezes, guarantees El Gouna an admirable vacation at any time of the year. El Gouna is renowned for its beautiful beaches and even hundreds of metres in from the coast its exclusive tortuous canals. Downtown El Gouna shows small stoned bridges that cross over the canals generating the tradition Egyptian effect. Visiting the region outside of peak season, can be ideal as the numbers of tourists holidaying have decreased and it gives the town its own unique ghost town touch.
The typical climates throughout El Gouna is an indication of the Red Sea and Mediterranean coastal regions, and generally create a perfect hot, not to mention very dry, sunny climate that enjoys endless blue skies and temperate sea breezes at any time of the year. Cloudy conditions are very uncommon throughout the region of El Gouna, as precipitation during every season is virtually non existent. Placid and enjoyable sea temperatures, with low relative humidity levels all year round create an ideal holiday whether you want to visit in winter or summer. July and August are however, the only months of the year that the average climate tends to become unbearably hot. Temperatures after nightfall become much cooler and throughout the winter months can even bring a slight chill.
Summer
Summertime in the El Gouna region is always hot and always dry, therefore overcast or cloudy days are very uncommon. Rainfall can be assured as a “very unlikely event” as average precipitation levels throughout all of summer, as well as spring and autumn are zero! Being an exposed coastal resort with no nearby sheltering the coastal breezes guarantees low humidity all year round, and can also be very rewarding for water leisure opportunities. A characteristic summers day throughout May and June will feature pleasing sunny weather and enjoys average climates of 29ºC, with the sun shining down for an average or ten hours per day. From the months of July through until September, hot and very dry weather takes place, resulting in 40ºC or even higher average temperatures. The sun shines down on the region for an average of thirteen hours per day during these months which at times can cause discomfort to some visitors.
Winter
For people who prefer a vacation in more mild and enjoyable conditions, winter in the perfect time to holiday in El Gouna. Lower and more pleasurable temperatures can be assured, yet continuous and uninterrupted sunshine is still present. In mid winter average temperatures will linger at least 20ºC, however will typically rise to 24ºC or 25ºC, still giving an average of seven hours of hot sunshine per day. Rainfall is still very rare throughout winter as average precipitation levels stand at 1mm or 2mm from December to February. April and November are branded as the best months to visit the region as visitors can still enjoy nine hours of sunshine per day and very pleasing climates.
