What's the Weather Like in Nassau in June
June is the official start of the Atlantic hurricane season, and that means there is a low chance of adverse weather. It is worth mentioning that the early months of the season are unlikely to see much in the way of activity, and certainly very unlikely to see a major hurricane brewing; having said that, always stay up to date with forecasts, and heed advice from your hotel staff and locals.
Temperature
The summer season brings high temperatures and higher rainfall levels, which can bring humid conditions to the city. The average temperature during this month of the year is around 27°C, however that can easily jump up to 31°C as an average high temperature during the peak sun hours of the afternoon. The downside of this is that evenings can be rather warm indeed, with the average low only falling to around 23°C during darkness hours. Those seeking shade and cool temperatures should probably avoid visiting Nassau during this and the coming months of the year!
Rainfall
This month sees another jump upwards in terms or precipitation, as we move into the wettest month of the year, July. You can expect around 180mm of rain across the month which can affect around 17 days. Again, this is likely to be a sharp downpour, rather than a prolonged rainy day.
Sunshine Hours
On the flipside, you can expect 10 hours of sunshine on average, which means any rain will be broken up by plentiful brightness indeed.
Sea Temperature
Beaches are again now packed, and the average sea temperature is now a very warm 28°C, so swimming, diving, water-sports, sailing, fishing, boat trips, and simply chilling out on the white sand are all activities to enjoy during your time in The Bahamas.

Alternatively, Orange Hill Beach Inn Hotel is a good three star choice, and a pretty resort with pastel coloured buildings, very Bahamian in style. There are 33 rooms within the hotel, which all have private balconies with beautiful views. The restaurant and bar will cater for your refreshment and dining needs, but this hotel is close to the city centre, so you won't have too far to wander.
Compass Point Beach Resort
Compass Point Beach Resort is another popular choice, and is a B&B, so you can head out for your evening meal and try a few local places, or you can stay in and cook yourself, as all 18 rooms come stocked with kitchenettes and stoves. There is a spa on-site, offering body treatments and massages, as well as a large outdoor pool with spa tub, for a cool down.

Junkanoo Beach
A lively and musical beach is certainly Junkanoo Beach. Located just outside the city centre, this is easily accessible for a few hours to enjoy the laid-back atmosphere. The beach is picturesque, with rocks heading out into the water and a pretty lighthouse at the far end.
Bars and Restaurants
Olive Meze Grill
For truly spectacular food presentation, it simply has to be Olive Meze Grill. The desserts here are truly special, and the sticky toffee pudding is one of the most famous items on the menu. The food overall is top class, with fresh ingredients and everything made from scratching, including freshly caught fish on the menu too. If it is simply fish you're after however, then head to Fish Fry's. This might be a more laid-back dining experience, and certainly not somewhere you need to get particularly dressed up for, but it does offer delicious fishy food to try, in bright and colourful surroundings, with a laid-back atmosphere.
Spritz Restaurant & Bar
If you're after something with a little more pub-vibe, then Spritz Restaurant & Bar is for you. This is a great place for families, because it is laid-back and with an old fashioned pub feel. The food is snack-like, such as baguettes, chips, and pizza, but the pizza does come very highly recommended, as well as a huge range of different beers and other drinks on offer.
Things to Do in Nassau in June
Nassau Segway Beach and Waterfront Tour
Checking out the city in a slightly different way can be done via Segway, and Island Routes offer guided tours of the city, the most popular of these being the Nassau Segway Beach and Waterfront Tour. You will be given a map and with the help of a guide get instruction on how to drive your Segway, before being set off on your way. This is a great fun for all the family, and a fantastic way to explore whilst saving your feet!
Pirates of Nassau Museum
Of course, the Caribbean is famous for its former history of piracy and heading to Pirates of Nassau Museum is worth a visit. This is a museum, pub and gift shop, all rolled into one, and you can learn about the history of the area, meet the pirate guide himself, who is hilarious to say the least, whilst enjoying a beverage at the end of it. This is a great day out, or at least just half a day perhaps.
Arawak Cay
If you want to escape from the city centre and main beaches, then head to Arawak Cay. This is an outdoor space with a slither of private beach, a park, and a few cafes and bars for a chill out. This is never a particularly busy place, and perfect for getting away from it all, or simply as a change of scenery.
