Today (29th April) marks the official opening of Thomson’s sixth five-star Sensatori Resort in Jamaica. Located in one of the Caribbean’s most sought after postcodes and set on the beautiful seven mile beach in Negril, the luxurious hotel offers swim-up rooms, fine dining and tranquil massage huts on the beach.

Sensatori Resort Jamaica, a property owned by Karisma Hotels & Resorts and operated for Thomson, remains true to its surroundings and retains its laid-back Caribbean feel, while providing contemporary accommodation. With four restaurants and a Gourmet Inclusive dining programme, it offers unlimited food and drink around the clock. Other highlights include swim-up rooms with over-the-water daybeds, a laid back reggae lounge with an impressive collection of rum, plus everything else Thomson customers have come to expect from these beautiful hotels, such as great children’s facilities, sports and activities.

In celebration of this, the hotel hosted a spectacular opening event. In an industry first, Thomson became the first UK holiday company to create a stunning water projection on the sea at Sensatori Resort Jamaica. A 3D projection of model Nadja Giramata enjoying the Sensatori Resort experience was broadcast onto the Caribbean Sea on Negril beach, to showcase the spectacular hotel features.

David Burling, Managing Director, TUI UK and Ireland said:

“We are delighted to open our sixth Sensatori Resort in Jamaica in partnership with Karisma. This will be the second Sensatori Resort being operated by Karisma and we are looking forward to working with the hotelier to ensure this one is as successful as Sensatori Mexico. It has been our strategy for a number of years to provide our customers with unique holiday experiences they can’t buy elsewhere. Our Sensatori concept has been an important part of this strategy, offering customers a luxurious holiday experience designed for them. Jamaica is a key destination for Thomson, providing unique culture, unspoilt beaches and impressive scenery we have increased our capacity to the destination from Summer 2014 and hope customers will enjoy the delights this fantastic destination has to offer.”

Mandy Chomat, VP of Sales & Marketing of Karisma Hotels said: “We are delighted to be working with Thomson to open another Sensatori Resort, this time in Jamaica. The Sensatori concept has proved extremely popular with our guests in Mexico, and we hope to make Sensatori Jamaica just as successful. Set on the stunning seven-mile beach, with contemporary rooms and a relaxed Jamaica vibe, the hotel provides a luxurious holiday experience. Customers will also be pleased to know that we are offering Karisma’s renowned Gourmet Inclusive dining experience, across four restaurants for guests to enjoy.”

As an addition to the opening celebrations marking the opening of this much anticipated resort, Thomson teamed up with renowned British fashion designer, Jonathan Saunders, to create a range of limited edition beach wear for men and women. In an interior design first for Saunders, the fashion designer has also designed, accessorised and named the bespoke Amber pool and beach area.

Lucky Thomson guests arriving at the resort from 8th June, 2014 can expect to receive an item from the collection as an exclusive gift from Thomson for a limited time. Customers can then head with their new beach bags and wear to the Amber area, exclusively designed and named by Jonathan Saunders. The area provides guests a harmonious environment to relax in and offers an ultra-exclusive feel, which features bold coloured cushions, Bali beds, drapes and umbrellas in Jonathan’s signature off beat print and colour combinations. The striking beachwear and pool area designed by Saunders will add to the luxury experience for guests visiting the Sensatori Resort Jamaica.
