The average temperature in June is 22°C though high temperatures can hit a balmy 25°C. Temperatures drop at night but this shouldn't be a problem as they won't fall below 18°C. Visitors to Gibraltar in June should pack light clothing with some layers for an evening.

Scuba diving is a popular option, with excellent conditions for the sport and around 30 shipwrecks to be explored. Sailing trips are always a favourite with tourists, as are the dolphin and whale watching excursions.

If you're looking for luxurious accommodation in Gibraltar, stay aboard the Sunborn Hotel. The five star hotel is located on a huge super-yacht that's docked in Gibraltar's Ocean Village. Guests can take advantage of an outdoor infinity pool, a casino, a spa and gym facilities. Rooms are spacious, stylish and comfortable with either a Rock or marina view.
The Continental Hotel is a great choice if you're on a budget. Centrally located just off Gibraltar's Main Street, the hotel provides a perfect base to explore the peninsula and is just a short walk to many attractions. Guests can enjoy a continental breakfast on a morning and there's also an on-site restaurant for evening dining.
Hit the beach
Holiday makers will definitely want to visit Gibraltar's beaches in June. Long, sunny days and high temperatures are perfect for sunbathing or splashing around in the sea. Gibraltar has six great beaches to choose from.
One of the most popular is Catalan Bay located on the east coast of Gibraltar. The beach has beautiful surroundings, from the looming Rock in the background to the pretty pastel fisherman's houses that line the coast. The second large beach in Gibraltar, Catalan Bay's golden sand and clear blue waters are popular with both locals and tourists.
Eating and drinking
With a combination of so many cultures and influences, it's no surprise that the cuisine of Gibraltar is a fusion affair too. Visitors will find everything from British dishes to Mediterranean and African inspired food on offer at the many cafés and restaurants.
O'Reilly's is a lively Irish bar that's the perfect place for a pint of beer or some classic pub grub. The menu features Irish-style food, such as the beef and Guinness ale pie. Popular with British tourists but also frequented by locals, O'Reilly's is located on Leisure Island in Gibraltar's Ocean Village marina.
Located in Caleta Bay, La Mamela restaurant offers amazing views over the beach with dinner. The Mediterranean restaurant serves some of the best fresh fish dishes in Gibraltar as well as some Spanish-style tapas dishes. With outdoor seating, La Mamela is perfect for al fresco dining in June.
If you're looking for a place to party after dark, DUSK is one of Gibraltar's most popular night spots. Here, holiday makers can enjoy some delicious cocktails, relax on the stylish terrace or dance the night away.
Things to do
If you're visiting Gibraltar in June make sure to plan lots of outdoor activities to take advantage of the glorious weather and the wonderfully fresh sea air.
There are quite a few walking tours that visitors can go on while in Gibraltar. One of these is to visit the historic St. Michael's Cave, which is a fascinating geological formation that was once the site of a British Military emergency hospital during WWII. Visitors are able to explore the upper and lower caverns in a three hour tour. One of the most unforgettable aspects of this tour is the underground lake.
The Great Siege Tunnels are also an interesting walking tour. On this tour, you'll see and learn about how and why the tunnels were built and the purpose they served during WWII.
Perhaps Gibraltar's most famous attraction though are the large population of wild monkeys that call the peninsula home. One of the best places to see the Barbary macaques is at Ape's Den at Queen's Gate where tourists flock to see the monkeys up close.
