Weather Overview for Armacao de Pera

Armacao de Pera is a beautiful Portuguese village and a popular holiday resort with its picturesque beaches, souvenir shops, supermarkets for your essentials, hotels, cobbled streets, cafés and restaurants. There are things to do to suit all visitors, whether it’s eating out, walking across the fort, going to the children’s play area, Zoomarine Sealife Park or nearby water parks, or exploring the resort and its exciting nightlife.

You can visit the pretty Largo de Igreja (Church Square), surrounded by trees. It is not particularly big or grand but still has its appeal to explore! It is likely that the holiday resort’s title derives from the word ‘Armação’ with its historical link with the Tuna fishing industry. Along the beach on the eastern side of the village are several fish restaurants, proud to say that they serve fresh fish.

July, August and September are the hottest months of the year, with average highs of over 27°, hotter than the national average Portuguese temperature of 22°C in July and September and 22.5°C in August.

There is little rainfall in Armacao de Pera and summer is the driest time of year, with only 1mm in July, 4mm in August and a slightly wetter 14mm of rain in September. It is still recommended, however, that visitors bring an umbrella with them and check the forecast for their stay.

Summer is Armacao de Pera’s busiest season so it’s recommended that holidaymakers looking for a peaceful holiday break visit outside the peak of the season.

Autumn in Armacao de Pera is typically slightly cooler compared to the summer months with an average low of a pleasant 14°C in October and 11°C in November. The average high during autumn is still warm, with 23°C in October and 19°C in November. More rain to the ground in autumn with 67mm of rain in October and 86mm of rainfall in November.  

Winter is the coldest season of the year in Armacao de Pera , with an average low of 9°C in December and January and February have an average low of a cool 8°C. The average high is 17°C in December and the coldest months of the year are January and February with an average high of 16°C. December is the wettest month of the year with an average precipitation of 94mm. January has 78mm of rainfall and 72mm in February.
