Weather in Casablanca

The mixture of cosmopolitan art galleries, nightclubs and fine dining combined with unforgettable architecture and some of the most beautiful sights you will see anywhere in the world ensure Casablanca has something for everyone.
The mild climate throughout the year makes certain Casablanca is a very popular place to visit in any month. But it has still not succumbed to the traditional touristy lifestyle that many other holiday destinations now endure. Instead there is a sense of genuine historical value, welcoming people and a cultural experience you won't want to miss.
As the largest city in Morocco, Casablanca is also one of the biggest and most important urban areas in the whole of Africa. Located on the Northwest Coast, in close proximity to the Atlantic and Mediterranean seas, the city is the home to the chief port in Morocco supplying a vital import and export stream in and out of the region. It is also one of the chief financial centres in Africa and a wonderfully vibrant place to stay.
The forecasted weather conditions in Casablanca are consistent all through the year. The wet season extends from November to March, but even then most days throughout the winter months remain dry. And because the temperatures are cooler during these months, accommodation and flights to the area are usually far more affordable than in the peak summer season.
The months from May to October are usually the most favourable time to stay in Casablanca as this is the time when the city enjoys the best of its weather. However with average temperatures only falling to 13°C in the coldest months, this area of Africa offers a beautiful location for a winter getaway as well.
And while many of the neighbouring regions of Casablanca are relatively desert like, the moisture created in the winter months and relatively mild summers ensure Casablanca can offer a more luscious landscape for all visitors to enjoy, especially in autumn and spring. And while peak temperatures have reached up to 40°C during the peak season, the ground is usually not as scorched as many of the surrounding holiday destinations.
Throughout the summer months, the sea is relatively warm and welcoming offering average temperatures of 22°C. However high winds and choppy water means that many consider it unsafe to go too far into the sea to swim. Instead, the many beach clubs and hotel pools are usually considered the ideal place to cool off.
Even if you do not have a pool in your accommodation, most local hotels and beach clubs will allow you entrance for a small fee. Just make sure you are aware of clothing restrictions on some of the more local sites, as some do request that you remain modestly covered.
The beaches, however, do remain incredibly popular, especially for those that enjoy the huge variety of sporting activities from surfing to diving that are available in Casablanca. During the summer months the sand is swarming with visitors. And with the coolest sea temperature only falling to 17°C, there are plenty of people enjoying the water in the winter time too.
Spring Weather in Casablanca
Spring in Casablanca traditionally runs from March to May, though it is only in July that the area usually offers the first peak temperatures of summer. However spring, in itself, is very tempting to visitors from across the world.

While the city will not be as busy with tourists as it will be in the warmest months, average high temperatures of 20°C are perfect for those that want to come to Casablanca to enjoy the cultural side of the city.
Museums, art galleries and places of historical interest are all usually open throughout the year, which means you can enjoy all the best sights of the city without waiting in the long queues that often plague the peak tourist period in summer.
And as the level of rain dramatically falls as spring progresses, the warm temperatures offer the ideal conditions for the many indigenous plants and wildlife of the area to thrive.
Summer Weather in Casablanca
Temperature
Summer in Casablanca is hospitable and mild with average high temperatures of 26°C throughout July, August and September. However it is in June when the most sun will be seen, with a full 12 hours of daily sunshine experienced throughout the month.
Rainfall
The summer also offers the driest months of the year in Casablanca, and it is highly likely that you will visit the city at this time of the year and not see any rainfall for your entire visit. This lack of precipitation may make the land a little barren in the most exposed areas, but it also ensures humidity levels stay very comfortable, even through the hottest months.
During the evenings and nights in the summer, temperatures will cool down sufficiently to offer comfortable sleeping temperatures. However with the huge variety of restaurants, bars and nightclubs in the area, minimum temperatures averaging 19°C ensure there is also a lot of after dark fun to be enjoyed.
Autumn Weather in Casablanca
Temperature
Though traditionally autumn starts in September, in Casablanca September is a key month of the summer season. Average high temperatures remain at a very inviting 26°C and it is not until the very end of autumn in November that the rainy season will begin.
Instead, autumn is a time for beautiful weather, a much more relaxed attitude in Casablanca, but still with plenty of sun. Average low temperatures will fall as the season progresses, from 19°C in September through to 15°C in October and then 12°C as November begins.
Winter Weather in Casablanca
Temperature
The coolest time of the year is during the winter months of December through February, throughout which time the daily high temperatures will reach roughly 17-18°C.
Average Sea Temperature
During these months, the evening and night temperatures will drop down to approximately 8°C or 10°C, with January traditionally offering the coldest weather of the year. However with average sea temperatures of 18°C and a strong sea breeze, this is not only the time of year for hiking and exploring, it also offers perfect conditions for the many kite surfers that come to the area.
Rainfall
The winters are also the time which experience the highest levels of humidity in Casablanca. But even during these wet months there will only be rain on 7-11 days a month, and most downfalls iare still relatively light. This ensures there are still many fine days and some very comfortable weather.
The climate, geography, and history of Casablanca are closer to the Mediterranean than to that of Africa. And while the town is a suitable departure point for much of north or western Morocco, it is absolutely recommended as a holiday destination in its own right all year round.
