Spring Weather In Puerto Banus
Temperature
With spring, a season that runs from March through May, the sunshine and favorable temperatures of Puerto Banus return, only improving throughout the season. March experiences comfortable temperatureshe average temperature is 14°C, while the average afternoon highs and nighttime lows are 18°C and 9°C respectively.
By May, all those average increase by 4 to 5 degrees. The sea temperature also rises in the course of the season, although not as greatly as the air temperature. The sea temperatures averages 16°C in March, 17°C in April and 18°C in Mayeither of those temperatures is high enough to allow for comfortable swims in the Mediterranean Sea (yet).
Rain
After the wet winter season, spring is characterised by drastically decreasing rainfall totals. While March has 7 days with rainfall and receives 59mm of precipitation, May is much drier with only 23mm of precipitation, but there still are 7 days on which you may experience some kind of rainfall.
Sunshine Hours
Less rainfall means fewer clouds in the sky, which means more sunshine. Sunshine increases significantly throughout spring, from 8 hours per day in March to 9 hours in April and to 11 hours in May.
Spring, like autumn, is an excellent season to visit Puerto Banus for the benefits of the Costa del Sol's sunny weather without the flow of summer tourists and crowds.
Summer Weather In Puerto Banus
Temperature
Puerto Banus, like the rest of the Costa del Sol, is at its best and most beautiful during the warm, sunny summer months. From June through September, temperatures tend to peak near the 30s in the afternoons and don't fall much lower than 17°C in the evenings and at night. July and August are the two warmest months of the year, both with an average temperature of 24°C. June and September are 22°C warm on average.
Sea Temperature
The sea temperature also reaches its annual maximum in summer. In August, for example, it is exactly as warm as the average air temperature, averaging 24°C. It's not a whole lot cooler in July and September, though, when the Mediterranean Sea is 23°C warm. These temperatures are absolutely ideal for a refreshing break from the hot afternoon temperatures.
Sunshine Hours
Visitors to Puerto Banus are guaranteed long, hot days in the summer months. The marina enjoys an average of 12 to 13 hours of sunshine per day from June through August, encouraging visitors to make the most of their seemingly endless vacation days. In September, there are 9 hours of sunshine per day on average.
Rain
Rain also rarely dampens the surrounding beaches. July, the area's driest month, has a total amount of rainfall of merely 2mm and only 1 day with precipitation. This is by far the driest season of them all superb time to hit the beach and spend time out of doors.
Autumn Weather In Puerto Banus
Visitors to Puerto Banus can still enjoy warm, sunny days, but in a quieter, less tourist-filled atmosphere in autumn, a short season that encompasses the months of October and November.
Temperature
After September, which is considered a summer month, the throngs thin, leaving the town's attractions less crowded. October averages daily highs in the low 20s and a nighttime low temperature of 14°C, both of which are quite pleasant. November is slightly cooler, with 18°C in the afternoons and 10°C at night.
Sea Temperature
The sea temperature is still high enough to go swimming in October (21°C), but may be too low by November (18°C).
Rain
November is the rainiest month on the Costa del Sol, Puerto Banus receiving 115mm of precipitation in total, which is spread out over 8 days with rainfall. October is much less rainy, only receiving about 55mm in the course of the month.
Sunshine Hours
Despite the rain, November still offers plenty of sunshine hours per day on average. October is a tiny bit sunnier, with its 9 sunshine hours per day.
Winter Weather In Puerto Banus
The mild winters in Puerto Banus make the coastal village a popular escape from the colder, damper winters throughout northern Europe. Though inland parts of Spain experience cold winter months, Puerto Banus' proximity to the Mediterranean Sea and its protection from the Sierra Nevada Mountains keep it relatively warm.
Temperature
Temperatures rarely drop below 5°C at night, and mercury levels can rise into the mid-teens in the afternoon all through the season. January is the coolest month of the year in the resort, with an average temperature of 11°C. Both December and February are slightly warmer, with averages of 12°C. The Mediterranean Sea is much too chilly for swimming in the winter season, averaging 16°C to 17°C now.
Rain
The November rain carries into December, which averages a rainfall total of 98mm and has 10 days with precipitation, which is the highest number of rainy days of any month. Precipitation decreases slightly throughout the winter months, but visitors should still expect some stormy days and pack a jacket for the cool evenings.
Overall, this is the wettest season of the year in Puerto Banus. Because of this relatively high rainfall and the clouds that come with it, winter is also the least sunny season.
