Weather Lowdown
If you can class the wet season in Kuredu as winter then you're looking at a very mild winter indeed. You can expect an average temperature around the 28°C mark, which is very similar to most months throughout the year. The only major difference between this month and others is that rain is on the increase, and can be very unpredictable to say the least.
September experiences around 15 days of the month which are affected by a level of rainfall to some degree, although how much rain is best put down to a forecast the Maldives are unpredictable at this time of year, however despite the fact that downpours can be sharp and occasionally torrential, if they are at the hands of a storm then you will know this well in advance.
The high temperature at this time of year can reach up to 30°C, so it is important to think about sun safety whilst out and about during the day, seeking shade and remembering a high factor sun-cream at all times. Evenings are mild and sometimes humid, with a low of only 25°C on average. The sun is certainly out for the duration however, with around 7 hours of sunshine per day on average throughout the month, counteracting any risk of rain to your holiday plans.
Whether it rains or not, the Indian Ocean temperature is certainly warm enough to truly splash and enjoy beach time, with an average of 28°C to be enjoyed. There are all manner of water-based activities to enjoy, including snorkelling, scuba diving, swimming, boat trips, and many water-sports on offer. If you are staying in a large resort hotel, of which there are many, then certainly make use of the large swimming pool facilities and enjoy the high temperatures and plentiful sun without having to go too far.
Where to Stay
It's the beautifully warm and sunny weather, plus a myriad of diving and water-based activities which make Kuredu famous in terms of holiday choices, and September brings equally as fantastic weather for visitors to the region.
When searching for accommodation on the island you will only find Kuredu Island Resort Hotel & Spa, which spans the entire island, and has more in the way of entertainment and luxury than most hotels can ever dream of owning.
You can choose between the O Resort part of the hotel, which is the most luxurious and most romantic in terms of setting and facilities, or you can go for the slightly more budget friendly options, but whichever you go for, you can be assured of a stay to remember, with swimming pools, restaurants, bars, sporting activities, entertainment, golfing, and a top-class spa to enjoy. Guests need to be 12 years and over to stay here, so do keep that in mind if you are travelling as a family.
Alternatively, on nearby Naifaru, check out the Naifaru Nafaa Inn, which caters for those who want to visit this stunning part of the world, but don't want to pay the huge price tags that hotels often charge for the privilege. Despite that, the standard of accommodation here is very high indeed, and there are all the facilities and amenities you could need for you stay, including a large on-site restaurant, and huge swimming pool too.
What to Do
A holiday in Kuredu, whether you're visiting the Maldives in September or any other month, is simply about relaxation, so it's not a good idea to go careering around the island trying out every active sport you can find aside from anything else, the humidity probably won't allow you to do that! Instead, it's about a slow pace of life which is reflected in the island in general, as well as giving you the ideal chance to forget your worries. The resort hotel is geared up for just that, and one of the most relaxing activities you can enjoy whilst you're on your holiday in paradise is to try a traditional Balinese massage at the on-site Duniye Spa.
This is so relaxing you will struggle to stay awake, and also has many reputed health benefits. The massage itself uses gentle techniques, as well as acupressure and skin rolling, to leave you feeling like you're floating out of the spa at the end of your treatment!

Hit the Beach
Adaaran Beach is on the Raa Atoll, and is a beach you should certainly be visiting. The long stretch of white sand gives you that castaway vibe you will be dreaming of, with clear water lapping at your feet as you head off for a paddle to cool down. Plentiful water-sports will keep you occupied, however simply relaxing is the ideal way to pass the time.
This beach is owned by the Adaaran Select Meedhupparu Hotel, and guest passes can be bought for those island hoppers who want to visit this stunning location. You can easily snorkel in the shallows, or simply kick back and relax on one of the plentiful sun-loungers.
Restaurants and Nightlife
The resort hotel's choice of restaurants is large, and one of the most popular is the colourful The Far East. This is a Japanese-style restaurant, where you will find a range of sushi dishes on offer, as well as a larger a la carte menu too. The setting is bright and chilled out, with a special vibe in the air.
Alternatively, maybe you prefer to dib in and out of dishes, trying something new without having to order a full meal, and in that case one of the many buffet restaurants is for you. Koamas Restaurant is a popular choice, with live cooking stations where you can watch your food cooked before your eyes. There is a large range of food on offer here, so you won't struggle to cater for a picky eater.
