June Weather Averages

Sorted by popularity:

Weather Lowdown

The wet season is beginning to come into play during the month of June, however that shouldn't stop anyone from enjoying the plentiful activities and the beautiful scenery which this part of the Maldives offers, with a true once in a lifetime destination on hand for anyone who ventures to this part of the world.

We have to state that Kuredu does tend to experience slightly more in the way of rain at this time of year, compared to the drier months such as February and March, however it is certainly not the wettest month of the year, as that title falls to October. You can expect around 14 days of the month to be affected by rain to some degree, however how much rain is impossible to predict until nearer the time simply check forecasts to be up to date on proceedings.

Despite the slightly wetter conditions, the air temperature rarely fluctuates to any major degree, and you can expect an average temperature of around 28°C during this time of year, which can rise to an average high of 30°C during the hotter times of the day. Evenings are predictably warm still, reaching a low of only 26°C, with high humidity due to the possibility of damper conditions. Despite this, there is often a slight sea breeze which tends to make conditions feel more comfortable. If you do want to avoid high humidity however, the earlier part of the year is better for you.

Of course, we always picture paradise when we think of the Maldives, and this island is no different, with an average of 6 hours of sunshine per day, which will certainly be hot and glittering. The sea is also very warm at this time of year, maintaining its warmth at 29°C throughout the month.

Where to Stay

June is a very popular month to visit the resort, and Kuredu Island Resort Hotel & Spa is busy no matter what the month. This is the main resort hotel on the island, and offers everything you need to make your holiday go without a hitch, and to enhance it beyond believe.

There are many accommodation options, and another one of these is the O Beach Villas, which gives you a totally idyllic and romantic backdrop for your stay on this paradise island. Set within the O Resort, which is one of the most luxurious you will find, this is on the north east side of the island, and offers unrivalled views over the glittering Indian Ocean.

Stylishly decorated, all villas come with king sized beds, flat screen TVs, terraces, and coffee machines for your morning cup of java. There is very little you won't find in this hotel, in fact there really is no reason to leave it.

Of course, sometimes you don't want to be in the heart of the action, and you want to flit back and forth. If that sounds like your requirement, then check out Zitahli Resort & Spa. This is located around 38km from Kuredu, on the island of Manadhoo, and is a five star property, offering villas on the beach. Surrounded by reefs and snorkelling opportunities, these villas offer everything you will need during your break, including an all day international buffet restaurant, and an a la carte restaurant for something different.

What to Do

Attempting to experience culture and traditions of a destination when you're staying in a large touristic resort isn't the easiest thing in the world, but one way you can inject a little culture into your stay is by making sure you try some authentic cuisine of your destination.

When you visit the Maldives you are treated to a wide variety of fantastic flavours, and seafood is certainly one of the main staples, especially tuna. Make sure you give masroshi a try, which is a savoury snack which is hugely popular in this part of the world. The resort has many restaurants which serve traditional food, so make it your aim to try a traditional and delicious Maldivian curry for dinner one night.

One of the island's most popular excursions is without a doubt a visit to the uninhabited and very relaxing Robinson Crusoe Island. It is called this obviously because it is totally castaway, and it isn't located too far by boat from Kuredu itself. Totally secluded, you can enjoy swimming in lagoons and chilling out on the talcum-powder sand. Make sure you book well in advance for this one as they only take one booking per day, to keep in with the secluded vibe. It's a good idea to request this at the time of booking your holiday, just to be sure.

A Maldives Sunset Cruise is a great way to check out this beautiful wonder of nature, aboard a traditional dhoni, a handmade wooden boat. You may see dolphins, but if you don't then the simple sight of the sun setting over the horizon will stay with you forever on a dry June evening.

Hit the Beach

If you're up for a spot of island hopping when it comes to your beach days, then make sure you head to Reethi Beach, situated in the Baa Atoll. This is a large hotel resort, as most of the islands are, and you do need to be a guest to use all facilities, however call ahead for a day pass for an extra charge.

The great thing about this particular beach is that it seems wider than the others around it, including Kuredu. One end of the beach travels out into the sea, with the sand either side of the island much more narrow. This means you have more space to roam, with sun-loungers and parasols giving you that much needed shade on those plentiful hot, sunny days.

Restaurants and Nightlife

Close to the beautiful O Restaurant within the main resort you will find O Bar. This is a great place to retire to once you've eaten your evening meal, where you can enjoy a selection of drinks and cocktails, whilst checking out the view before you. You can sit indoors or outdoors, and guests must be 12 years and over to visit.

Alternatively, the Pool Bar remains open all day and night, and has an old fashioned pub vibe about it. You can sit and chill out with a beer in hand, as well as watching entertainment from bar staff, or simply chatting with your loved one.
