Sitting on the south east coast of Spain, or the Costa del Azahar, is the port city of Valencia. Like most of Spain, the city enjoys a typical Mediterranean climate all year round; summers are hot and dry while winters are mild.

December is the start of the winter season in Valencia and it is one of the coolest times of the year, with more rain seen than in the dry summer months and less sunshine. As a result, the city is much quieter than the busy summer months.

Valencia can see some much cooler temperatures in December though. Nights in December can drop to an average minimum temperature of just 5°C. This can feel quite cool, so if you're planning a December trip, you may want to pack some warm layers to wear.
