Valencia Weather March Averages, Spain
Spain's third largest city, Valencia, is situated on the south eastern coast of the country, known as the Costa del Azahar. Thanks to its location, it experiences a subtropical, Mediterranean climate that is characterised by hot, dry summers and cool, mild winters.

March is one of the best times to visit Valencia as the city is quieter and cooler than the summer months, making sightseeing much easier. The warm, sunny weather of spring continues in March and temperatures continue to warm up without getting too hot.
The average daily temperature in Valencia in March is 13°C which can reach an average high of 18°C on warmer days. Light clothes and beach gear is usually suitable for this month, especially towards the latter end of March. However, temperatures can drop to an average of 7°C during the month, especially in the evening, so be prepared with a warmer jacket or some layers.
As it is spring time, March in Valencia can be subject to some spring showers. Rainfall increases from February to an average of 34mm of precipitation over the month. This means that there's a 22% chance of a rainy day. The skies can suddenly cloud over and open up to sudden downpours in March, however any wet weather usually quickly clears up to sunny weather.

It can be found in the Nuevo Centro Shopping Centre, just a 15-minute walk from Valencia's Old Town. Alternatively, the Túria Metro Station is just outside the door offering easy access within five minutes. The three star hotel offers modern accommodation with a Mediterranean restaurant and an outdoor terrace.
Some visitors may want to stay closer to the sea, for easy access to the beach. Valencia Beaches for March
March is a great time to hit one of Valencia's many beaches. The port city has a choice of Blue Flag beaches that are just a short distance from the city centre.
Most tourists head for Valencia's Malvarrosa beach which is closest to the city and easily reachable by bus or tram. The long sandy beach is relatively unspoiled and is clean and safe with minimal development around it. However, there are some facilities for visitors to make use of, including sun loungers, showers and some beach-side cafés and restaurants.
Bars and Restaurants
Valencia is famous for its incredible nightlife. Tapas restaurants, bars and clubs line the streets, providing a busy and exciting evening for holiday makers. Barcode is thought to be one of the best bars in Valencia and is conveniently located in the heart of Valencia. The cocktails are the biggest attractions here, with a huge choice of exotic drinks to choose from.
Of course no visit to Valencia would be complete without trying the region's famous paella. Valencia is the birth place of paella and there are many great places to try it, such as Restaurante Levante. The restaurant specialises in the dish and offers some different varieties including Paella Valenciana with chicken, rabbit, fava beans, and green beans.
El Pederniz is another great find, located just outside of the city centre in the Arrancapins area. Here, holiday makers can sample some authentic Spanish cuisine, with many fresh fish dishes and traditional tapas.
Things to do in Valencia in March
With the warmer weather, March is the perfect time to explore the cosmopolitan city of Valencia. The city is well known for its superb shopping, with everything from designer boutiques to high-street stores, so why not spend some time treating yourself or trying to bag a bargain at one of the city's many shops? A great place to start is La Calle Colón where you'll find everything from clothing to home furnishings.
There are plenty of museums and art galleries to visit whilst you are in Valencia too. One of the most popular is The IVAM or Valencia's Institute of Modern Art which was Spain's first museum dedicated to modern art. Here, visitors can see exhibitions from many famous artists including Catalan sculptor Julio González.
Held in March, visitors can experience Las Fallas, one of Valencia's top events that is well known throughout the whole of Spain. For this event, models of Valencia's most famous buildings, monuments and landmarks are paraded through the city before being burnt on huge bonfires. As well as this, there are fireworks, food stalls, concerts, music and dancing lasting throughout the week.
