April is a vibrant time in Valencia. Visitors to the city can witness many of Valencia's most famous celebrations and fiestas which are held throughout the month. Semana Santa Marinera (Holy Week) is a national holiday held in April in Valencia, with the religious festivities occurring up until Easter.
Another very important festival in Valencia is Moros y Cristianos. Costumed parades celebrate the occasion, which is held in honour of the battles that occurred between the Christians and the Moors in the 1400s.
April is a great time to explore Valencia's famous City of Arts and Sciences which is located half way between the city and the coast. The cultural hub is home to beautiful open spaces, an array of museums and stunning architecture designed by Santiago Calatrava and Félix Candela. Visit the Oceanogràfic aquarium which is the largest in Europe or the Príncipe Felipe Science Museum where you can learn about the evolution of life, science, and technology.
