While the temperature in September in Side begins to cool off from the hot temperatures in the months before it, it is still quite warm this month. There are numerous options for food and drink here, as they have a main restaurant and four other a la carte restaurants, all serving a variety of international dishes. They also have nine bars that are open different times throughout the day. Guests staying here have access to 350 metres of private beach space, in addition to five swimming pools. There is a wellness centre on-site, offering massages and Turkish baths. The hotel is about an 11 minute drive from the city centre.

The Hotel Terrace has created rooms that have a modern feel, yet are spacious and comfortable. They have several restaurants on-site that offer international menus. The hotel also has a private beach area that includes sunbeds and umbrellas, a café for food and drink, and a volleyball court on the sand. There are a few different pools as well, some of which include water slides, as well as an "Aquapark." The hotel also has live music, entertaining shows, and dance parties throughout the year. They are about an 11 minute drive from the city centre.

Side Beach for September

Although Side has just two beaches, it does not mean that they are not worth going to. West Beach is a sandy beach that is about 30 km long and is usually more popular than East Beach. There are plenty of facilities here and visitors can rent sunbeds and umbrellas. The water here tends to be calmer and shallower than at East Beach, making it great for swimming and for children.

Water sports are popular here as well, with activities like parasailing, waterskiing, and snorkeling frequently seen, in addition to diving and boat tours. Although this beach is popular and crowded this time of year, since there is 30 km of beach space, it is possible to find an area that is more secluded. The beach is lined by several cafés and restaurants, most serving local cuisine using fresh products. West Beach can be easily reached by foot and there is a recently completed boulevard that stretches the entire length of the beach.

Bars and Restaurants

The Allaturca Restaurant offers something for everyone. They specialise in Turkish cuisine, like kebabs and lamb skewers, but also have a variety of steaks, chicken and beef casseroles, calamari, and barbeque options. All of their food is served in good-sized portions and they also provide complimentary Turkish bread with dip to start your meal. They also have desserts, like fresh fruit platters, and serve wine and spirits. The restaurant also has entertainment, as some of their waiters perform belly dances and eat fire. They are about a six minute drive from the city centre.

My Corner is a local place offering comfort food served at affordable prices. They are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and serve a variety of food. Their specialty is Turkish cuisine, but they also serve Italian food like pastas and pizzas, as well as some Mexican options. My Corner also has fresh seafood and a number of steaks (some served with a gorgonzola sauce) available, and Turkish bread with dip is provided free of charge. They also have some nice local wines and play good music to add to their local and comforting ambience. My Corner is about a six minute drive from the city centre.

Things to do in Side in September

A great way to experience some of Side's culture is by seeing a Fire of Anatolia and Sultans of Dance Show. The performance includes 120 dancers that use elements from Turkish culture, combined with traditional folk dances, as well as incorporating modern dance and ballet. This dance group has performed all over the world (85 countries in total), and they even have two different Guinness World Records, one for "fastest dance performance at 241 steps per minute," and another for performing in front of the largest audience, which was about 400,000 people. Tickets cost 55 for adults and 20 for children. The performances are held at the Gloria Aspendos Arena, about a 45 minute drive from the centre of Side.

If you are in search of adventure, white water rafting is a fun option. The trips take place in Koprucay Canyon National Park, where you will encounter wonderful sites like the Taurus Mountains. After being picked up from your hotel, you will receive your rafting equipment (paddle, helmet, lifejacket), be given instructions, and then begin the ride at 11:45 AM. The journey takes about three hours and includes lunch on the river after the ride is over. It costs 25 for adults and 13 for children, and rides are available everyday but Sundays.
