    Iberotel Sarigerme Park

    Kaunos

    The UNESCO site of Kaunos, an ancient port dating back to classical times, lies just thirty minutes' drive from Sarigerme. You can roam freely around crumbling baths, fountains, and an amphitheatre. For centuries Kaunos was a major trading port and even mentioned by Herodotus in his Histories. It was only abandoned in the 15th century, after an invasion and malaria epidemic drove the populace from its walls.
