Santa Ponsa Weather March Averages, Spain

Santa Ponsa Weather for March 2023

Summer is the most popular time of the year for tourists to visit Santa Ponsa, on the Balaeric island of MajorcaSpain, with the area enjoying the hottest and sunniest weather during this season, but thanks to its Mediterranean climate, there is warm and pleasant weather all-year round. The resort is still a popular option as a holiday location in the winter too. A true testament to the excellent climate is the fact that so many Brits go on to make the resort their second home. A holiday at this time of year will guarantee you warm and sunny weather, with the occasional spell of rain: a fabulous break from cooler climates, such as Britain's.

After the three cool winter months, DecemberJanuary and February, the weather starts to warm up in March. The average daily temperature is now 11°C, already two degrees more than the previous two months. The average daily lows and highs, too, have increased. At night, the temperature drops to 5°C, which is still cool by all accounts, but during the day, the mercury rises to 17°C. Both temperatures increase slightly in the course of the month. The average low temperature rises from 5°C in the beginning of the month to 7°C at the end. The average high increases from 16°C to 18°C. The sea temperature remains cool, though. At an average of 15°C, it is almost as cold as it ever gets in this region. Only in February is the Mediterranean Sea around Santa Ponsa colder.

March receives a total of 36mm of rainfall and has 7 rainy days, numbers that are similar to those of the previous three months as well as April. Although 7 days of rainfall may seem like a lot, you can also look at it from a different perspective. It means that there are no less than 24 dry days! There is little variation in the likelihood of a rain shower in the course of March. The average probability is 32%, a percentage that decreases from 33% to 31% in the course of the month. The most common type of precipitation is moderate rain, which is observed on 49% of the days with rainfall. Drizzle, light rain and thunderstorms can happen as well and have the respective chance of 19%, 14% and 13%.

With 8 hours of sunshine per day, March is a bit sunnier than the previous winter months. This increase in sunshine hours is thanks to the lengthening of the days in a slight decrease in cloud cover. March 1 is the shortest day of the month with 11.19 hours of daylight, while March 31 is the longest with 12.37 daylight hours, a significant increase of 1.18 hours. Cloud cover decreases slightly from 44% in the beginning of the month to 42% toward the end.

Located about a kilometre from the town centre and only 500 metres from the nearest bars, restaurants and shops, the Sentido Punta del Mar Hotel is a great hotel with 243 rooms. It is set on a hillside just outside of the resort and offers fabulous views of the Mediterranean Sea. It's arguably the best located hotel in Santa Ponsa! This great hotel has a wide range of facilities, including a spa, Turkish baths, saunas, a fitness room and a sun terrace. As Majorca is a popular destination among cyclists, this hotel offers the possibility to safely lock your bicycle. It also organises cycling tours. In March, when the temperatures don't yet allow to go swimming in the sea, you can enjoy the heated outdoor pool and the solarium.

Hotel Delfin Mar is a four-star hotel that's situated just off Santa Ponsa Beach. It consists of 89 rooms spread out over 5 floors, including two rooms that are suited to handicapped people. Facilities include two outdoor pools, an indoor pool, a gym and sauna and a wide range of tourist activities. The buffet restaurant offers show cooking.

A fun place to spend the afternoon or evening is the Watering Hole. This restaurant has its own swimming pool, poolside bar and sun terrace. They offer breakfast, lunch and dinner and have an extensive cocktail and drinks menu. If you're in the mood for a swim and a meal or some poolside cocktails, this is a place to consider.

There are plenty of other restaurants, bars and grills in downtown Santa Ponsa. Although this is not a party hotspot like Magalluf is, the town does have its fair share of evening entertainment venues. Simply walking through the town centre and along the beachfront will give you an idea of what to do and where to go.

Although March doesn't yet allow for afternoons on the beach and in the Mediterranean Sea, Santa Ponsa still has enough to offer to keep you occupied and satisfied during your holiday. Shopping is one of the activities that you might enjoy. The promenade along Santa Ponsa Beach is a premier shopping area in the resort, lined with shops selling everything from shoes and handbags to arts, crafts and jewellery. The nearest street market is found in nearby Andratxt takes place every Wednesday and can be reached by taxi or bus. The largest market on Majorca is situated in Inca, about 50 kilometres from Santa Ponsa. This one takes place every Thursday and makes for a nice day trip.

For a more thrilling activity you should make your way to nearby Magaluf where you can go go karting. This popular outdoor sports venue has been in operation since 1983 and offers fun in a kart to everyone who's older than 3 yearshere are go karts for pretty much all ages!
