Things to Do in Porto in September

September is quite a good time to take in all the scenery from the surrounding parts of Porto, its dramatic hillsides perfect for long bike rides and even trekking expeditions. The weather is perfect for picnics on the rockier parts of the coastline as well, and you also always have the option of incorporating a wine tasting into your daily schedule in beautiful Oporto.

    Se Cathedral

You certainly have to see the stunning Sé Cathedral, a splendid Romanesque cathedral built in the early 12th century, and constantly hailed by the Tripeiros as one of their city's most precious jewels. Its façade resembles that of a fortress, but its interior is absolutely breath taking, with mindboggling detail in every single piece of religious art mounted in here. Another must see is the beautiful Sao Bento Station, designed with superb glazed tile artwork all over the walls. It was named after an old Benedictine monastery once built on this very spot, and to this day it has remained one of Porto's postcard buildings.
