Playa Paraiso Weather September Averages, Canary Islands
The purpose-built resort of Playa Paraiso, nestled into a bay on the west coast of Tenerife, continues to be bathed in warm sunshine in September and, as a bonus, the sea water reaches its warmest average temperature this month at a warm and inviting 24ºC (75ºF) making it the perfect time to try out some of the many water sports on offer. There is plenty to do on the water here from sailing and boat excursions to a range of water sports as well as great swimming and snorkelling opportunities around the rocky coast so take advantage of the warm waters to get in and explore the Atlantic.
This is another hot summer month with average temperatures reaching 24ºC (75ºF) but as the kids head back to school the tourist crowd becomes more adult and less family focused making it a great time to discover the island.
If you'd rather just spend your holiday lying on the beach, however, you will not be disappointed. Highs at this time of year can reach a hot 27ºC (81ºF), with the hottest daily averages being likely at the beginning of the month.
Despite the number of sunshine hours dropping slightly from August, there are still a generous 11 hours of sunshine this month and a 48% chance of experiencing a sunny day and only a 5% chance of experiencing a cloudy day.
Although the rainfall also increases this month, you would still be unlucky to experience a shower with, on average, only 3mm of rain falling over two days in the month and only a 7% chance of rain.
The wind drops slightly this month, with the strong, dry summer wind blowing off the Sahara easing slightly leaving only a 45% chance of a windy day.

Things to Do

It's the perfect boat from which to while away the hours watching the dolphins and whales play in the Atlantic. For a more romantic experience you can hire the One 4 You catamaran privately and let the crew do the work while you lie back and take in the beauty of the Atlantic Ocean.
If you love to dance then Talk of Town in Playa Paraiso will certainly get your feet moving. With a different dance theme every night and some karaoke thrown in too, there's something for everyone at this British pub/nightclub. From Rock 'n' Roll to line dancing the atmosphere is always fun and inviting.
Hit the Beach
Take advantage of the warmest sea water temperatures this month (an average of 24ºC) with a visit to El Camison, to the south of Playa de Las Américas. This pretty 120m beach lined by local cafes and bars is a popular swimming spot, although rarely gets overcrowded. The breakwater which surrounds the beach creates a barrier to big waves or dangerous tides making this an ideal place for swimmers and families. There are plenty of facilities here including showers and some water sports are also offered.
The largest of the beaches at Playa Paraiso is Las Galgas which has been remodelled in recent years to add yellow sand and palm trees making it a great place to base yourself in the resort. The other beaches are set in small coves and are pebble and shingle, making them popular with snorkellers. For sunbathing Las Galgas is the best option although it lacks the facilities of resort's manmade seawater Lido.
Eating & Drinking Out
If you're visiting the party capital of Playa de Las Américas during your visit then stop off for a meal at The Oriental Monkey, voted top Canary Island International Restaurant in 2013. The menu is Asian fusion with delicious fresh seafood at the heart of many of the dishes like the cod in miso or the tuna tataki. The funky, exotic décor make this a cool hang out and great dining experience.
For a bit of good local grub in Playa Paraiso try Mr. Curramba an authentic Columbian restaurant serving delicious South American food including a traditional Columbian seafood casserole, empanadas, flank steaks and more. Located on the first floor, the restaurant has great ocean views and is very popular with the local Spanish population.
Those looking for a British experience should check out Playa Paraiso's Slug and Lettuce. A 'home away from home' for many of the British ex-pats and visitors, this traditional British pub opens early to serve a full-English breakfast just 10-minutes' walk from the beach.
