Fortunately, both calimas and siroccos can be predicted well in advance, giving you plenty of time to make alternative travel arrangements if necessary. The durations of the storms vary significantly they can last from as little as a few hours up to as much as ten days. Whilst they usually don't pose any real danger, calimas and siroccos can be especially dangerous during summer months when temperatures can reach as high as 20°C above the average.
