What's the Weather Like in Phuket in February
February is the last month of the dry season and the average rainfall is just 30mm falling over 2 to 3 days. This is the driest month and from here on rainfall will increase until the wettest months of May, September and October when up to 400mm a day will fall over 21 days.
Average humidity is also lower at this time of year but will begin to increase towards the high of 90% during the monsoon. In February humidity is around 75% and you won't see an increase until the end of March. The humidity at this time of year is dependent on rain, on dry days the humidity can be as low as 50%.
The hours of sunshine has extended to 9 a day this month and will drop to 8 hours by the end of the month. The sunshine hours may seem low as Phuket is near the equator but because of the rain and cloud conditions of the monsoon, it is significantly less than a location with no monsoon season.
Ocean temperatures have increased slightly to a lovely and warm 29°C that is only 1°C less than the high of 30°C that is seen from April to July.
There is an average of 7 foggy days this month but it won't stop you from exploring the island as there are many activities indoors to explore. By next month there will average 8 days of fog that is up from the low of just 1 day in June, July and September.

Be pampered in the Spanakarn Spa in one of the massage or treatment rooms, or go shopping in the plaza and check out the boutiques.
Eat and drink at one of four places, the Port Restaurant, Blah Blah lounge, Y Lounge of the Fly bridge Bar I and II.
Club Med Phuket
Club Med Phuket is in Kata Bay and accommodation is built in a traditional long-house style bungalows surrounded by fragrant frangipanis and a lush tropical gardens. Children are welcome here and have their own club just for kids in varying age groups.
There are many activities, all of which take in a fun, learning environment with experienced organisers. Children can play a variety of sport such as basketball, beach volleyball and football, mini football and range of other leisure activities, such as swimming, table tennis and the many festive evenings organised just for them.
Dine at the Mamuang and the Chu-Da, both serve quality Thai and international cuisine, plus provide high chairs for small children. There are three bars to choose from, all serving all-inclusive drinks (paid for), so order your favourite tipple and enjoy. Bars include The Sanook in the centre of the resort; The Bamboo, a busy nightclub serving divine cocktails and the Clubhouse, which is open all day.
Beaches for February for Phuket
Laem Singh Beach
Laem Singh Beach is a beautiful spot in all weather. This is a busy beach on sunny days but is quieter and just as warm on cloudy overcast days. Palm trees lean invitingly over the beach and there are massages offered, beach vendors, sun lounges and a set of wide stairs leading up to some great restaurants and bars.
Once a month there is a beach party with a DJ playing music from 5pm. You can rent snorkeling gear here and the southern end of the beach is a great spot for seeing what lives beneath the waves.
For a quieter beach experience try Banana Beach, often called the last secret beach, as it is quite isolated. This is a 180 metre long beach with beautiful clear blue water. It can be found between the beaches at Bang Tao and Nai Thon.
Swimming is recommended from November to May only. Rent a sun lounge or have a massage but at high tide the water reaches the tree line, so be careful where you put your belongings.
Another quiet beach, which is also the longest in the area, is Mai Khao. This lengthy beach still has areas that are not developed and you are able to find a deserted spot uncluttered by beach chairs and sun lounges. The beach starts at the Sirinath National Park and extends for 11 kilometres along the coastline.
It is near the airport and at one end you can see the planes get close to the beach just before they land. If you are lucky enough to be here at the right time you can see the baby turtle release during the Songkran Festival.
Restaurants and Bars for Phuket in February
Thong Dee Restaurant and Bar
The Thong Dee Restaurant and Bar is located in Katha and is open from 4pm but closed on Mondays. Choose from authentic Thai or European dishes, which include a taste from just about every country in Europe including Italian, Spanish and French. The Thai menu includes classical dishes and new fusion style food with fresh flavours.
Poo Nurntong Restaurant
For great Thai food try the Poo Nurntong Restaurant also in Katha is known for its great Thai food at reasonable prices from a welcoming staff. It is well worth searching this place out according to rave reviews of Trip advisor. It is open every day from 10am.
The Davinci is for all lovers of Italian food where you can choose from a range of starters, salads, entrees, risottos, pasta, beef and lamb as well as fish and desserts. There are 2 restaurants, one at Nai Harn that is open every day from 5pm and the other at Kata that is open from 5pm but closed on Sundays. There is also a delicatessen with its own menu of cold cuts and hot food.
Things to Do in Phuket in February
The Kids Club
If you are after somewhere indoors to take the kids then The Kids Club is the place to go. The club is open daily from 10am to 9pm and is located on the 2nd floor of the Promenade Mall Patong. Entry fee depends on the age of the child but adults are inexpensive.
This is a great spot if your child is having a birthday while on holiday. The space is air conditioned and activities include climbing walls, a padded trampoline, swings and slides and lots of tunnels to explore.
Phuket Escape Hunt
If you want something a bit more demanding try the Phuket Escape Hunt experience in Kathu. Go back to 1800 England and play the part of an English detective given 60 minutes to solve a mystery.
This is a game for 2 to 5 players, takes place in a games room and there are four different experiences to choose from: Bomb in the workshop, Poison in the dining room, Fire on the sinking ship and Kidnapping in the games room.
The Big Buddha at Karon is a must see for many visitors to Phuket. It's still under construction but you can take a tour and enjoy the view from the top across the island. At 45 metres tall you will be able to soak up an amazing 360 degree view of Phuket.
Learn how it is being built and leave your mark on the inside for the entire world to see. Nearby are several other attractions worth seeing such as the Chalong Temple.
The Wat Chalong is the most revered of temples and the temple as it stands now dates back to 183, though much older relics have been found on the site. A sacred relic, a bone of the Buddha is kept here and is named the Phra Borom Sareerikatat. It can be found in a case on a 60 metres high construction.
It was brought over from Sri Lanka and the Chedi it stands on is surrounded by wonderful murals that depict from the life of the Buddha. The temple is open every day from 7am until 5pm and while admission is free, a donation is asked for to help maintain the temple and grounds.
Red Mountain Golf
For the keen golf player there are several golf courses around the island of Phuket and Red Mountain Golf is a 16 hole par 4 course located in Kathu district. This is a modern place with a Pro shop and a kiosk every 3 holes for a cool drink or a snack to keep you going on a hot and humid day.
Marshals are on the course to keep play flowing throughout the day and you can enjoy a meal at the restaurant or a snack at the Staging area. There is also a putting green to get used to the conditions here, plus a caddie to take you around the course.
