    Agios Georgios

    July falls within the main tourist season, so it's a good time for those who like busy and vibrant scenes but it also means that many of the beaches tend to be quite crowded at times. The coves and beaches south of Agios Georgios feature some secluded bays which are reputed to be the best sites for naturists in the Paphos area.

    The Yavuz Cikarma Plaji or Escape Beach, is situated next to the lively Escape Beach Club, which provides sporting entertainment and meals during the day and transforms into a nightclub overnight and hosts some beach parties.

    Paphos has a very wide range of well rated restaurants and visitors are spoilt for choice as long as they avoid the dodgier outlets. There are many good outlets that serve Greek cuisine (which is similar to locally-produced Cypriot cuisine), including the Windmill Restuarant at 19, Paphias Aphrodite's Street, which is a family-run restaurant.

    Paradise Place

    Those after musical entertainment can consider the Paradise Place at Pomos 8870, which features regular musical entertainment and hosts the annual Paradise Jazz Festival in July and/or August each year.

    Things to do in Paphos in July

    Undersea Walkers

    July is a good time of year to try out some underwater entertainment. For those after something a bit different, Undersea Walkers, based at Cynthiana Beach Hotel, Tomb of the Kings Road, offer a guided trip helmet diving and walking on the sea bed, for which no prior experience of diving is required. Visitors can survey rock formations and sea life at the bottom of the sea.

    BOB diving

    BOB diving (on an underwater scooter) trips are also offered, though you must be 13 or over, and 4 ft 6 or taller, in order to participate for safety reasons. For a more traditional experience, scuba diving trips are also offered. Transport is freely provided from your choice of hotel.

    Super Aphrodite Water Park

    Holidaymakers can cool off by enjoying a stay at the Super Aphrodite Water Park, situated at Poseidnos Avenue. There are many attractions at the site, including a large rafting ride, a wave pool, massaging facilities, numerous slides, a pirate ship slide, lazy river rides, and a super volcano. Note that visitors are not allowed to bring their own food and that the in-house restaurants are quite pricey, so plan your eating accordingly when on a trip to the water park.

    The Koumantaria Festival

    There are many concerts that are held in Paphos during July, including the Concert for the Youth. The Koumantaria Festival is held in late-July each year to celebrate Commandaria Wine, which is produced in a small area of Cyprus that contains 14 villages, and it is held at Lania Village. The festival features Greek and Cypriot music and dances, and features musical nights and is rounded off with a fireworks display.
