    What's the Weather like in Paphos in September 

    Temperature

    Although temperatures cool off a little during September in Paphos, the nearby sea is close to its warmest at this time of the year, and consequently September is, on average, a hotter month than June, and may still be too hot at times for some at the warmest time of the day. The daytime temperature rises to an average maximum of 29°C and falls to an average overnight minimum of 19°C. These temperatures make outdoor activities attractive during evenings and even overnight.

    Heatwaves

    Cyprus occasionally experiences notable heatwaves early in the month, due to southerly winds dragging up hot dry air from northern Africa, but Paphos tends to miss the severest heat because of the moderating effects of the surrounding seas.     Beaches for September for Paphos 

    Latchi Beach

    September is a good time of year to try out the beaches, since tourists are less rampant than in July and August, while the seas are close to their warmest at this time of year, making diving and swimming particularly attractive. Latchi Beach is situated by Latchi fishing village in the Akamas Peninsula, and is ideal for scuba diving and swimming as well as for fishing. The nearby taverns and cafes widely sell seafood.

    Pachyammos Beach

    The blue flag Pachyammos Beach is ideally situated for access to nearby pubs, restaurants and nightclubs.

    Restaurants and Bars for Paphos in September

    Laona Restaurant

    Paphos has a wide range of good restaurants to choose from. There are many good Greek restaurants, including the Laona Restaurant at 6 Votsi Street, Paphos, which is well-regarded for its service, and serves good meats and wines as well as Greek food.

    True Bliss Juice Bar

    There are also many good snack bars in Paphos and the True Bliss Juice Bar at Shop 6, Efstahiou Complex, 28 Tombs of the Kings Road sells some good cheap snack food and desserts, smoothies and yoghurt ice creams.

    Nammos Beach Bar

    There are some good beach bars in and around Paphos. The Nammos Beach Bar at Coral Bay is a good source of pub food and drinks and offers good views over the sea front. 

    Alfie T's Bar

    Alfie T's Bar at 29, Tomb of the Kings Road is a traditional British-style pub that has regular karaoke events on evenings as well as serving reasonable pub food during the daytime.

    Things to do in Paphos in September 

    Paphos Sea Cruises

    September, with its reliably dry sunny weather but not quite as hot as August, is a good time to try a boat cruise around the Paphos area. Paphos Sea Cruises at Paphos Harbour offer a wide range of cruises, including half day, full day, pirate, wedding receptions and water sports cruises. The pirate cruise, for example, includes a pirate show, belly dancing, dressing mummies, and "walk the plank". They have a special "fireworks night" cruise on a Sunday from 19:00 to 23:00. Many of the cruises offer diving and snorkelling opportunities, which due to the warm seas, are particularly attractive at this time of year.

    Tiger Boat

    Those who fancy something fast and furious and a little bit different can try the Tiger Boat trips, which features twists and turns and wave jumping.

    Fans of ten pin bowling have a choice of two main ten pin bowling centres in Paphos.

    Cockatoos Bowling Centre

    The Cockatoos Bowling Centre contains a computerised and air-conditioned ten pin bowling alley with 10 lanes, and a bowling academy which offers training. 

    Cosmic Bowling Centre

    The Cosmic Bowling Centre at the centre of Paphos has 18 lanes and numerous on-site facilities including a pro shop, a cafeteria and restaurant, and video games. There is also free internet, a children's playroom, and musical entertainment.

    Paphos Aphrodite Festival

    In September the Paphos Aphrodite Festival is intended to promote Paphos as a culturally-rich city and features musical performances. Each year the organisers invite a well-known opera group to perform in the city, performing classics which in the past have included Bizet's "Carmen" and Puccini's "Turandot".

    Paradise Jazz Festival

    The Paradise Jazz Festival is held in late-September each year and is held at Charalambou Fournidi 12, Paradise Place, Polis Town Centre and encourages the best young jazz musicians from London to come and perform and entertain.
