Palma Nova is a resort town on the Island of Majorca in Spain. It is at the very core of the island where a lot of the best activities happen. Palma Nova has 3 main beaches that stretch its length and what is called the Passeig Maritim, which is a boardwalk that spans the length of all of the beaches. Visitors will find that strolling down this boardwalk is an adventure unto itself as it is lined with many small shops, cafes and other establishments designed to part visitors from their vacation money.
Playa de Son Maties is the main beach, with sunbeds, umbrellas and showers. This beach is a 600-metre stretch of fine sand, good for enjoying water activities like boating or windsurfing. Es Carregador is a small cove with a protected swimming spot. Here is where you can find all the bars and nightclubs. Playa Palma Nova is a nice middle ground, at 1 kilometre interspersed with small playgrounds. It's a great place for families and couples alike.
If visitors find themselves at a loss for something to do, it is possible to visit the tourist information stand located in the promenade centre overlooking the second of the three beaches, Platja de Palmanova.
If visitors wish to escape from the hubbub of the resort areas, there is one place that is recommended to get away from the crowds. There is beach area just beyond Magaluf called Portals Vells that is quite nice and serene. It's an enjoyable spot to relax away from all of the crowds and noise.
There are a ton of restaurants in Palma Nova as well from fast foods to gourmet dining to all you can eat buffets. One can never go hungry in Palma Nova.
The Welsh Mosquito (Playa Son Matias), a British-style bar next to the famous Chi Lounge, is a friendly tavern with great views of the beach. There's a variety of international cuisine here--be sure to try the grilled meats or the lasagna.
