If you're looking for accommodation on your break, try the Hotel Gabarda. The budget hotel has an excellent location, minutes away from the beach, a short drive to the airport and close to the city centre.

The beaches of Palma Nova are just a short 15 km west of the airport. The sands tend to be quieter and more tranquil than those in Magaluf. Palma Nova has three beaches, all of which are family-friendly, with fine sand and crystal blue water. Alongside all beaches are restaurants, bars, and free car parking.

Playa de Son Maties is the main beach, with sunbeds, umbrellas and showers. This beach is a 600-metre stretch of fine sand, good for enjoying water activities like boating or windsurfing. Es Carregador is a small cove with a protected swimming spot. Here is where you can find all the bars and nightclubs. Playa Palma Nova is a nice middle ground, at 1 kilometre interspersed with small playgrounds. It's a great place for families and couples alike.

Palma Nova also is famous for its Paseo Maritimo Coastal Promenade, where both locals and tourists can walk and enjoy the scenery and at the same time check out the long line of souvenir shops and stores parallel to the beach.

Castaways (Padeo Del Mar 58) offers a wide selection of food at an affordable price. The dishes are decent, ranging from BBQ to Yorkshire pudding and traditional pub grub.

Il Vicolo (Paseo del Mar 16) serves superb, authentic Italian food like pasta, bruschetta, and baked aubergine. The menu is limited but uncomplicated and freshly prepared. Part of the restaurant's charm lies in the rustic decor. A friendly stop on the seaside.

August is a fun time to visit Palma Nova, especially for kids who will love to be in the water.

A great place to bring the family is to Western Park, a combination water park and Wild West theme park. It's filled with a ton of different water rides and entertaining shows for the whole family.

Aqualand Magaluf will provide visitors with a few more thrills as the rides are geared more towards adults. Golf Fantasia is another family friendly destination that promises a great deal of fun and entertainment. Everyone will have fun at the three different 18-hole mini golf courses that can be played. There is also a snack bar that serves great food and a number of adult beverages.
