What's the weather like in Ocho Rios in February
February is one of the cooler and drier months of the year. February is central to what is considered winter in Jamaica. If your planned visit to Ocho Rios includes lots of outdoor activities and spending time in the sun, February is a great time to do it. At this time of year expect average daily temperatures of 26°C, and an average 8 hours of sunshine each day. Because of the cooler, sunnier weather, February is busy season in Ocho Rios, therefore expect many hotels resorts and villas to be booked out in advance.

There's also a 20% chance of rain falling on an average 7 rain days, hardly enough to justify taking an umbrella with you, as the chance of rain exceeding a day (or even a few hours) is very slim. In fact, this is the driest month of the year with just 22mm of rain, so it is a popular time to visit.
With guaranteed warm temperatures, make sure your wardrobe consists mostly of light, breathable clothing to keep you cool. An average temperature high of 29°C is expected to peak around midday, conversely an average low 23°C is expected during the early hours. The cooler evening temperatures offer some relief from the afternoon heat, and presents a perfect opportunity to relax outside under the stars or take an evening dip in the hotel pool. The cooler pool waters will leave you feeling refreshed and will help you get a good night's rest.
The sea has an average temperature of 27°C at this time of year, married with the warm and dry air this is a recipe for beach, beach and more beach. Ocho Rios Beaches in February
Whether you're looking to relax or you're up for some thrills, James Bond Beach is the place to go. Named after the famous Ian Fleming novels, the beach is a popular spot for tourists, locals and fans of the James Bond Franchise. In addition to the soft white sand and gently swaying palm trees, you'll find water sports and guided Wave Runner tours, on which you can see the famous Golden Eye villa where the James Bond novels were written. This beach also regularly holds international and local music concerts throughout the year.

Offering a variety of dishes, The Almond Tree is a connected to the Hibiscus Lodge and is located in the heart of Ocho Rios. Perched on a cliff overlooking the bay, an ideal time to visit the restaurant (for non-guests) is late afternoon/pre-dusk. The spectacular sunset and ocean view will compliment your meal, whether it be traditional local dish, or western favourite. Alternatively, stop by for lunch and spend some time exploring the grounds.
Because of the influence of Indian Settlers in the early era, Jamaican cuisine also includes varieties of curry, a popular dish in Ocho Rios. If you feel cravings for an authentic Indian curry, Taste of India serves up some of the best curry dishes in Ocho Rios. The décor is Indian inspired to add to its authenticity, and a bar is also available in the restaurant, offering patrons views of the coast and town area. Taste of India pride themselves on their menu and service, claiming it is an experience "fit for royalty".
Things to do in Ocho Rios in February
If the high mid-day temperatures are getting to you, consider taking a drive to have a look at the cooler Fern Gully. Fern Gully is an area that gets its name from the wide variety of ferns that grow in the area (approximately 300 varieties). Along the way you will find many vendors selling souvenirs and other items of interest.
If you would like to make the most of the great weather, and you enjoy a little bit of history, take a trip up to Prospect Plantation. Prospect Plantation offers you the opportunity to take a tour of a 1000-acre plantation and estate, including a historical fort built in the 18th century which is still standing today. On the tour you will see large areas with crabs including coconut, lime, banana, pineapple, coffee and sugar cane alongside native hardwood trees.
