Tenerife, Canary Islands <\/strong><\/p>\n

Not just numero uno with the Club 18-30 crowd in search of sun, sand and\u2026sunburn, Tenerife<\/a> is ever-growing in popularity with families looking for a quick and easy flight from the UK <\/a>and some fun in sun, as well as couples in search of a bargain fortnight where they can do little else but get to know their sun lounger on a seriously intimate level. Tenerife South<\/a> is home to the majority of the island\u2019s tourist resorts and many popular, lively beaches including the three Los Cristianos<\/a> beaches; Playa de la Vistas is widely accepted as being the best out of the three. Las Teresitas located in the north-east is arguably the whole of Tenerife\u2019s most beautiful beach; it has white powdery sand and an artificial reef offering shoals of tropical fish and calm shallow waters. Tenerife North is quieter and boasts some beautiful unspoilt areas, however, its beaches are mostly black sand, plus Tenerife North <\/a>receives cooler, wetter weather \u2013 hence its lush, verdant scenery and smaller crowds. It\u2019s popular with hikers, divers and golfers.<\/p>\n

Weather lowdown<\/strong>: Despite Tenerife\u2019s orange weather warnings back in February, the weather<\/a> is now positively pleasant with an average daily temperature of 17\u00b0C, and average high of 20\u00b0C and low of 13\u00b0C. Lanzarote <\/strong><\/p>\n

Lanzarote<\/a> is a great choice for families and offers a plethora of enjoyable attractions and activities, not to mention some beautiful beaches<\/a>. Renowned for its fascinating geology, Lanzarote\u2019s unique moonscape and black volcanic rocky scenery is a memorable sight. – don’t forget your camera. For bags of local character, charm and fewer crowds, head to one of the smaller islands such as El Hierro<\/a> or La Gomera<\/a>.

Cyprus<\/a> enjoys the mildest climate in the Mediterranean, and temperatures pick up rapidly come April. The sun is shining steadily, the sea is warming up nicely, and the island\u2019s flowers are in bloom. Paphos<\/a> is arguably one of the island\u2019s best resorts, although the north coast of the Akamas peninsula is the best place to go to escape the crowds.
