easyJet<\/a>, the UK<\/a>\u2019s largest airline, announced that they expected Friday, 5 September to be the busiest day in its history with 1451 flights carrying over 210,000 passengers taking-off across its entire network.<\/p>\n

The end of the school holidays and the last-minute dash for some\u00a0summer sunshine\u00a0<\/a>before the nights start to draw in has attracted more people than ever to take advantage of easyJet\u2019s low fares and wide variety of popular destinations across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.<\/p>\n

Business travellers have also been taking to the skies this week as Europe goes back to business following the summer. Almost a fifth of easyJet\u2019s passengers are travelling on business, many travelling on day trips thanks to the airline\u2019s frequent and convenient schedule to primary airports to all of the key cities in Europe.<\/p>\n

Popular destination for the droves of passengers departing the UK for leisure breaks this Friday are sunspots like Malaga<\/a> and Alicante<\/a> along with cities like Barcelona<\/a>. The busiest business destinations are Paris<\/a>, Amsterdam<\/a> and Geneva<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sophie Dekkers, easyJet\u2019s UK Director, said:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWe always find that our busy summer season continues well into September as many of our customers take advantage of schools going back, our low fares and fantastic range of destinations. We\u2019re delighted that so many passengers have chosen to start their late-summer breaks with us.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis coincides with Europe getting back to business after the summer break. Business passengers are attracted to easyJet due to the airline’s low fares, industry leading punctuality and friendly service across Europe\u2019s leading network \u2013 all of these factors help the airline to both attract and retain new business customers.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur busiest day comes shortly after our busiest August ever \u2013 with 8.4% more passengers travelling with us this August compared with last. And our planes flew more than 94% full during the month which is the highest ever load factor recorded by the airline.<\/p>\n
