{"id":1929,"date":"2014-07-31T21:12:07","date_gmt":"2014-07-31T21:12:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.holiday-weather.com\/news\/?p=1929"},"modified":"2014-07-31T21:12:07","modified_gmt":"2014-07-31T21:12:07","slug":"july-2014-in-top-ten-warmest-and-sunniest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.holiday-weather.com\/news\/july-2014-in-top-ten-warmest-and-sunniest\/","title":{"rendered":"July 2014 in top ten warmest and sunniest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This July is set to finish amongst the top ten warmest and sunniest in records dating back to 1910, according to early Met Office statistics.<\/p>\n<p>Figures from the 1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0to the 28<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0of the month show temperatures are slightly higher than normal, with a UK mean of 16.3C, which is 1.2C above the 1981-2010 average.<\/p>\n<p>If the month were to finish like that, it would be the joint 8<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0warmest in the record dating back to 1910 \u2013 but is well short of the record-breaking 17.8C set in 2006.<\/p>\n<p>Sunshine hours for the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.holiday-weather.com\/country\/uk\/\">UK<\/a> are well above average, with 210 hours so far \u2013 which is 122% of the average we\u2019d expect for the whole month. This means it is currently ranked as the joint 10<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0sunniest July in the record, and it\u2019s likely to climb higher once the final few days of the month are included.<\/p>\n<p>However, this July is unlikely to break the record of 256 hours of sunshine set in 1955.<\/p>\n<p>Rainfall has been below average for the UK \u2013 but not by a record-breaking amount.
