We\u2019re betting you probably don\u2019t want to have to venture too far to enjoy a sunny, snowy break away either. Hence, top of many a ski bunny\u2019s agenda is checking out The French Alps<\/a>\u2019 long-range ski and snow forecast. We\u2019re hoping for plenty of fresh powder and bags of sunshine\u2026<\/p>\n

January 2014
\n<\/strong>Typically wintry weather is forecast for this month, with the\u00a0north\u00a0northeast\u00a0current\u00a0bringing heavy\u00a0snowfall\u00a0down to\u00a0the plains.\u00a0Come the thaw, there will be abundant snow in the mountains.\u00a0The weather will turn very cold\u00a0during the second half\u00a0of the month\u00a0with an average temperature of\u00a0-15 \u00b0C\u00a0in the valleys,\u00a0however, it will not last.<\/p>\n

February 2014<\/strong>
\nFebruary\u2019s\u00a0weather\u00a0will be disrupted\u00a0by a westerly current of air, which will bring\u00a0rain to the\u00a0valleys, and snowfall\u00a0to the mountains.\u00a0Offering respite from this month\u2019s climatic unrest are some decidedly spring-like days.

\nMarch 2014<\/strong>
\nMarch is set to enjoy mild,\u00a0sunny and spring-like weather brought on by the\u00a0foehn – a type of dry, warm, down-slope wind that occurs in the lee (downwind side) of a mountain range.\u00a0The current\u00a0is then due to swing to the\u00a0northwest\u00a0bringing\u00a0snow\u00a0at all altitudes. By this time, the weather will herald the warmer, brighter temperatures and conditions of spring interspersed with times of\u00a0unstable, cooler weather.<\/p>\n

April 2014<\/strong>
\nThis month will be\u00a0highly unstable\u00a0with cold weather\u00a0and snow showers\u00a0in the valleys being the order of the day. Frost will be common and sunny days\u00a0will be\u00a0few and far between.<\/p>\n
