Newquay Weather September Averages, United Kingdom
September sees the tail end of the summer in Newquay.
The temperature is still mild, so still plenty of opportunity for a swim or sunbathing on the beach.
In keeping with August's increase over July, rainfall increases more in September to average
September also has various activities to enjoy if you're in or around Newquay, Cornwall, and the first one is the Bude Jazz Festival that begins in August and lasts until September.
With over 200 jazz-related events and celebrated as one of England's top jazz festivals, it's one not to miss.
The Fish Festival in the middle of the month. Naturally, the Fish Festival has many seafood celebrations and is based in the Newquay harbour, making it ideal if you're in the local vicinity.
In addition to that there is the Bluegrass Festival, also during the middle of the month, and it is a three-day musical event famed for banjo playing. The Bluegrass Festival takes place at the Hendra Holiday Park.
If fish or music doesn't interest you, perhaps the British Bodyboard Surf Contest will instead. Held near the end of the month and lasting until early October, the British Bodyboard Surf Contest is one of the major events in surfing, with Newquay favoured thanks to its good waves.
For a hotel that is close to both the beach and the centre of town, try the Priory Lodge Hotel. The budget hotel is conveniently located just two minutes walk away from Newquay's main attractions.
