Naples Weather November Averages, Italy
What's the weather like in November in Naples
One thing you may be requiring when you visit Naples in November is a waterproof jacket. There is certainly no guarantee that you will be drenched during your time in the city, but November is the wettest month on the calendar, so it pays to be prepared! Naples experiences around 140mm of rain throughout November, which can affect an average of 14 days to some degree or another. Playing it safe with an umbrella and waterproof will cover all bases.
Despite the rain, you can still expect an average of around 4 hours of sunshine per day, and when it does shine, you will be dazzled by the brightness!
November brings an average temperature of around 13°C, which can reach a high of a very temperate 17°C during the warmer times, before dropping to a low of 8°C during the evenings.
If you feel the need to head off swimming however, be warned that the Mediterranean Sea is beginning to cool in November, dropping to around 19°C on average.
Naples Hotels for November
A pre-Christmas holiday to Naples deserves a comfortable place to stay, and there are no shortage in this city. Situated just at the back of Piazza Garibaldi, close to the central railway station in the city centre, you will find Best Western Plaza Hotel. This is a big name you can trust, and is perfect for business and leisure visitors, located within a 19th century building which has been revamped as a hotel.
If you prefer to stay away from big brand names and prefer something a little more intimate however, Neapolis Hotel is for you. This small B&B is situated right in the centre of the historical part of the city, within walking distance of everything, and feels just like home.
Europeo And Flowers
For sheer novelty factor of the name, aside from the comfortable surroundings you will stay in, Europeo And Flowers is a great choice. Decorated in a unique fashion, centrally placed, and a great choice for those on a budget.
Bars and Restaurants
La Cantina dei Lazzari
As far as authentic Italian restaurants go, you would struggle to find one better than La Cantina dei Lazzari. Home-made pasta dishes are a speciality, teemed with fresh seafood to boost the luxury, such as lobster. The large menu is complimented by an equally as large wine menu.
Puro Japanese Restaurant
If you're craving Japanese food then head to Puro Japanese Restaurant, with a funky, innovative décor. Many say this is the best Japanese in town, so try it for yourself and see what you think. Alternatively, if it's a coffee and cake pit-stop you're after, head to Buona Merenda to tick that box.
Things to do in Naples in November
November is the time of the Napoli Film Festival, and for anyone into cinema making, this is a great time to visit. You will find showings around many different venues across the city, with both local and further afield films on show. If you're lucky, you could even meet a director or actor!
On one of November's many fine days, be sure to head off on a horseback riding tour around Mount Vesuvius. This is a fantastic way to see the beauty of the area, with a guided tour, and to meet new people at the same time. This is a great alternative to hiking or bus tours, and is also great fun too. Each tour takes around 2-3 hours, leaving you enough time to continue your sightseeing in Naples itself.
Chiesa di San Giovanni a Carbonara
Speaking of sightseeing, one place you should be heading to is Chiesa di San Giovanni a Carbonara. This is a startling collection of amazing sculptures, intricately decorated tombs, and history. Photographs generally don't do this place justice, and to appreciate the finer decoration, you have to see it for yourself. This is a must visit for anyone interested in sculpture design.
Piazza San Domenico Maggiore
If you prefer the pace of your stay to be leisurely however, then head to Piazza San Domenico Maggiore and indulge in a spot of chilled out people watching. This is a very picturesque square, perfect for relaxing and enjoying a cup of coffee as the world goes by. In the centre of the square you will find San Domenico Maggiore, the church dating back to 1283, which is intricate in design in itself. You'll also find a few street artists around, as well as small restaurants and coffee shops. This is laid-back Naples at its best, and perfect for a couple of hours relaxing.
