November Weather Averages

Sorted by popularity:

What's the weather like in Mykonos in November

Temperature

With the arrival of November the average temperature has dropped considerably to a low of 14°C with the average high/low temperatures of 11°C and 17°C. On sunny days it is still pleasant to be out and about but nights are getting colder. You may still get a warmer day when the temperature heads to 20°C. Still nice weather for a beach walk but the water temperature has now dropped to 19°C.

Rainfall

Average rainfall continues to increase to its peak of 170mm falling over 10 days and the chance of a rainy day has increased to 16%. This month sees the highest rainfall for Mykonos but you can still have a rain free holiday due to the low chance of a wet day. Rainfall will stay relatively high until March when it drops below 100mm for the month.

Sunshine Hours

Sunshine hours have dropped again and now stand at 8 hours and the chances of a sunny day has dropped to 34% although this is better than elsewhere in Europe at this time of year. December has the least amount of sunshine hours each day with just 6 hours expected.

Clouds

Chances of a cloudy day are 20% so you can still have a sunny, if cooler, holiday in November.

Sea Temperature

Sea temperature has dropped to 19°C so is quite cold for swimming and other water sports. You would need a wet suit for any prolonged water sports such as diving or surfing. The chances of a windy day sit around the 60% mark so it could be breezy this time of year.

Mykonos Hotels in November

Located in Ornos is Sail Inn offering a variety of rooms including a studio for up to 4 people, or an apartment. Rooms have fridges, TVs, bathroom, bathrobes, tea and coffee making facilities, air conditioning, toiletries and kitchenette. The apartment has the same facilities but has 2 floors. There is a bar and restaurant, free Wi-Fi, parking and a daily maid service. Canoeing is also offered as a winter activity.

The Matogianni Hotel is located centrally in Matogianni Street amid bars and restaurants and many shops. Choose from a ground floor economy room or a double room. All rooms have air conditioning, TV, bathroom and mini bar with a balcony. Rooms are bright and spacious and colourfully decorated.

Mykonos Beaches for November

November is probably not the best time of the year for swimming as the sea temperature is quite cold but the days can still be pleasant for a walk along the beach. Some people love the beaches at this time of year as there are no chairs and sun lounges interrupting the beautiful sandy beaches.

There will still be warmer days into the high teens where a day at the beach can be warm and relaxing.  Glyfadi Beach is a small beach near Ornos and Agios Ioannis and is part sand and part pebbles. It is in a quiet spot with no taverns or bars but the area is full of luxurious summer houses overlooking the beach.

Agios Lazaros is a small beach near Platis Gialos and there are several hotels here and luxurious houses. This is a quiet beach even in the height of summer but in November you could be the only one there.

Bars and Restaurants

Many of the smaller cafes and restaurants are closed for the colder winter months but one that is open is Madoupas Cafe and Bar. You will often find locals here during November so the food is good and excellent value for money. Located at the port the coffee is good and the Ouzo flows freely. Fillet with mushrooms is a favourite here.

O'Bati Day and Night is open all year and offers you a selection of pizzas and grilled meats with a distinct Italian taste. The menu has 24 pizzas, steaks, burgers, salads and wonderful desserts. Try the Seafood Linguini or the Calzone with Nutella, mascarpone and sugar.

Amades is located in Mykonos town and is a great little place for Greek food even if it is hard to find. Dishes worth trying are Mussel Saganaki, cheese pie, lemon and potato soup and the meatballs.

Things to do in Mykonos in November

For the yoga lover there are two places to practice this gentle art. Visit the Mykonos Castle for Sunset Yoga with the backdrop of the beautiful island and the sea. Beginning at 7:30pm the classes are for any level with stronger asanas for the more experienced practitioner. After the class enjoy fresh fruit and tea. On the island is Lucy Hamel who offers yoga classes, retreats on the island and in Italy, as well as personal training and breathing techniques.

Hiking tours run every Saturday and a backpack with water, food and walking stick are included in the price. There are 2 options for the hike that starts in Ano Mera and goes through Dida Maou and ends at Mersini Beach for swimming. Option B is to continue with the hike so you can see the islands of Tinos, Ikaria and Samos. You can include a traditional lunch if you want or stay and swim for a while before going back to the starting point and returning to your hotel.

You are able to visit the Family Farm and Vineyard  all year round. From April to the end of October tours are at 5pm till 8pm and the rest of the year from November to March from 3pm until 6pm. The farm is traditional and organic and your tour includes light snacks and raki and an escorted tour of the farm.

Mykonian Spiti also offer a walking tour of the island all year round between 2pm and 5pm where you will visit places such as the Church of Paraportiani, the castle, Little Venice, windmills and many small and interesting shops before returning to the port area.

If the weather is fine you can always go to the outdoor cinema in a beautiful garden and see the latest films at Cine Manto in Limni Chora. There is a restaurant and events are often held so check out the website before you visit the island.
