Playa del Portet

If you're looking for a gorgeous beach that you can take pictures of and be the envy of your friends, make sure you make your way to Playa del Portet, or Portet beach, a small inlet which is in the shape of a sea shell and although facilities such as bars and shops are fairly minimal, it's safe and secluded and ideal for a quick dip. This is really a quiet, picturesque cove that has fine sand and lovely clear water. It is located between Moraira port and the Cap d`Or Tower on the seafront. Some water sports are available at certain times of year from this small beach.

This Swiss restaurant serves freshly made Swiss cuisine and is ideal for a romantic, intimate dinner. If clubbing is more your scene then Saxo Disco and Garden is the place to be. Located close to the beach, this chilled out venue has an indoor club and outdoor garden where you can listen to tunes, relax with a cocktail or dance the night away.

Things to do in Moraira

Ampolla Beach

Located near to the Moraira Castle is Ampolla Beach. One of the best and most popular beaches in the area, this golden beach has gentle slopes and fine sand. There are lifeguards on duty during the busy daytime hours too so children can go swimming here.

Av Kart Center

If you're in search of other things to do with the family then a trip to Av Kart Center is the perfect choice. Providing a fun day out for all the family, you'll feel like you're on a real race track as you whizz around the long circuit. Just remember to take plenty of bottled water with you as it can get pretty hot on a warm day.

June is an exciting time to visit Moraira as the resort hosts several festivals during the month. In early to mid-June, Moraira hosts the Moraira Music Festival which thousands of people attend. The open air concert which takes place near to Moraira Castle is a unique and interesting way to experience the culture of Spain.

At the end of June, Moraira celebrates the festival of St John, one of the most significant religious festivals in the Mediterranean. Both Alicante and Moraira celebrate with bonfires and fireworks with Ampolla beach hosting a bonfire that is lit at night.

Festival

MORAIRA INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL

10th June 2019 to 11th June 2019

The Festival is part of the Moraira – Moors and Christians Fiesta Celebrations. This is an event not to be missed, where you will be able to see and listen to top class musicians and singers whilst enjoying the ambience of Moraira. Last year around 3,000 people attended the concert and seating by the stage is very limited.

The Moors and Christians Fiesta

15th June 2019 to 23rd June 2019

Many towns have a Moors & Christians fiesta and these celebrate the expulsion of the Moors from Valencia by the Christians. This invasion by the Moors is re-enacted and they sail into the beach, with canon- and musket-fire, and overrun the Castle held by the Christians. The following day the Christians stage an attack and retake their castle with even more noise. Exciting and noisy events with the Red Cross Ambulance standing by. The fiestas continue for the whole week, including both weekends, and feature daily street processions, games, competitions, bull-running, all-night disco etc
