Montego Bay Weather March Averages, Jamaica
What's the Weather Like in Montego Bay in March
Spring has officially sprung in March and temperatures begin to climb a little compared to the few months beforehand. Having said that, Jamaica's temperatures overall don't fluctuate enormously, and the island doesn't experience the same traditional seasons that some other countries do. Still in dry season however, the average March temperature is a wonderfully warm 26°C, with a high of 29°C, and an evening low of around 22°C, meaning air-con is an essential.
Getting out and about is not a probably in March, as you're not likely to experience much in the way of rain, with only an average precipitation of 30mm, or 9 days throughout the month experiencing some rainfall; although as before, any rain experienced is likely to be short-lived.
Average Sunshine Hours and Sea Temperature
Beach time is a good idea, as the sun certainly has its hat on now, with 9 sunshine hours every day on average, and a sea temperature of around 27°C. Swimming in Montego Bay's calm waters is a great idea to cool down, as well as checking out the underwater residents with a spot of scuba diving and snorkelling.

Things to do in Montego Bay in March
Green Grotto Caves
One of Jamaica's most eminent natural attractions, Green Grotto Caves is a site you really can't afford to miss during your visit. A short drive away from Montego Bay, these natural wonders have had a colourful history: originally inhabited by the Arawak Indians, they were later used as a hideout by the Spanish, who were avoiding being run out of the country by British colonialists; in the 20th century they were used by smugglers sending arms to nearby Cuba. With abundant natural pools, unique rock formations and light holes, these caves have an atmosphere like few other places on the island.
Rockland Bird Sanctuary
Winged animal enthusiasts should check out the Rockland Bird Sanctuary in the St. James Parish. A 20-minute drive from Montego Bay, you can join a tour of the sanctuary and come up close with the hummingbird, the national bird of Jamaica which is known locally as the "doctor bird". When your tour ends you can also take a walk through the tranquil onsite gardens, home to a variety of herbs and trees.
A hiker's paradise, the Blue Mountains are a sight you'll want to see if you're looking to immerse yourself in the nature of the country and escape your resort for a day. Somewhat further afield, you'll encounter many winding mountainside roads but it's worth the journey to Blue Mountain Peak as the views are simply second-to-none.
Croydon in the Mountains
If you want to experience the splendour of the mountains in a location nearer to Montego Bay, Croydon in the Mountains makes an excellent compromise.
