February Weather Averages

Sorted by popularity:

Weather Lowdown

February is the wettest month of the year in Mogan, with an average rainfall of 22mm in 5 days over the course of the month. This is still relatively dry in comparison to other European destinations at the same time of year and is similar to Prague, Czech Republic. The chance of rain falling on any given day in this month is around 20% and if it does rain, it is most likely to be in the form of moderate showers. Check the forecast before heading out to see if an umbrella is needed. Cloud cover is roughly 50% during the month and does not vary much throughout February.

Average daytime temperatures are 19°C at this time of year, which is comparable to Malta. This can be experienced through average high and low temperatures of between 16°C at night to 21°C during the warmer days. These are almost identical to January, but it is slowly getting warmer now as spring gets closer. For visitors hoping for warmer days, it might be a better option to plan a trip later in the year, such as June, when the days are more consistently warm. The highest recorded temperature was in 2010 when the mercury hit 31°C, while the coldest was just 7°C in 1954.

The days are getting longer now, with the sunrise at the beginning of February at around 7.50am and sunset at 6.40pm. There are approximately 9 hours of sunshine each day and humidity ranges from 50% to 85%, remaining comfortable. It can get windy away from the shelter of the bay, and wind speeds are usually between 2 m/s to 10 m/s, but get gust up to 13 m/s, most often northerly. The sea temperature remains at 19°C during February, and does not increase until the beginning of summer making days exploring the town and surrounding countryside a great option if the beaches are a little too chilly. This month is still a very good month to visit the region, as there is plenty to see and do and the cooler temperatures mean fewer crowds.
