What's the Weather Like in Miami in May

Compared to winter months like January, spending May in Miami is like entering a different world. At this time of year you will see higher temperatures, much higher rainfall, and higher humidity levels too.

Rain

Checking the forecast before you go out might well be essential here, as during this month the rainfall increases to 173mm across the 30 days, a large jump from April. That occurs in just 12 days of actual rain, so you can imagine the storms are quite heavy when they do hit.

Temperature

As for the average daily temperatures, these soar up to 26°C, with highs of 29°C and lows of 22°C. This means that even on the coldest days, this time of year is warmer than the hottest winter days. If you want to work on your tan, now's the time to get started.

Sunshine

There are 10 hours of sunshine a day this month, which means the sea is heating up as well.

Sea Temperature

The average sea temperature rises to 27°C, making it more than pleasant enough for you to go ahead and take a dip in the water. Be sure to pack swimwear and sun-cream!

Humidity

Remember the combined heat and rainfall is going to make for some pretty humid days. Prepare for this accordingly and take note of the fact that it can make temperatures seem even higher due to the way humidity feels on your skin. Plan to dress for hot weather always and take a break out of the heat of the midday sun if you need to.

This part of the USA sees some great temperatures as we go into the summer months. It is a bit wetter here than you would find further up the coast in cities like West Palm Beach, but with the local attractions like South Beach, you might want to stay in this area all the same. There is a lot of fun to be had around this great city.
