Mellieha Weather September Averages, Malta
September is still summer in Mellieha, and the weather is still gorgeous for relaxing at the beach and enjoying the stunning scenery of the area. The average temperature at this time of year is decreasing, but is still a very warm 240C, while the average high and low temperatures range from a daytime high of 280C to an overnight low of a mild 200C. Temperatures can get much warmer, and the highest recorded at this time of year was a hot 390C, while the lowest was a mild 150C.
The days are getting shorter as the summer turns into autumn, with the length of the day decreasing by approximately one hour from the start of the month to the last day. Things to do
The main festival of Mellieha village is the Il Vitorja, a nine-day festival that begins on 30th August and peaks on 8th September. During this time, there are many activities such as music events, fireworks, singing, dancing, exhibitions and religious processions. On the 8th September, the statue of Our Lady of Victories is carried through the town, before finally being taken into the church. This is a religious occasion that is very important to the local community and it's a fun and interesting way to see the culture and traditions of this region.
While the weather is still hot and dry in September, head to the beach and have a go at paddle boarding. Stand up paddle boarding is a popular and fun way to spend some time while at the beach, and also a great way to stay fit. Also on offer is windsurfing, kayaking, dinghy sailing and more. Have fun and get wet while learning a new skill in the water. This is an activity that anyone can do, even the kids.
Hit the beach
Armier Bay is a beautiful beach located close to Mellieha in the nearby green area called L-Ahrax. This is a great place for a swim in the warm September days when the average sea temperatures are still a gorgeous 250C. Facing the nearby islands of Gozo and Comino, this sandy beach is actually made up of two beaches, a larger one called Armier and the smaller beach known as Little Armier. This area can get very busy at weekends, so plan your visit for during the week. This is still a quieter area than the main beach at Mellieha, and there are some great walking tracks nearby in the surrounding countryside.
Eating and drinking out
When the weather is hot and after a long day at the beach, go to Mojitos Beach Terrace at nearby Ramla bay for the best sunset drinks around. Enjoy a gorgeous sunset cocktail while sitting relaxed on beach cushions, or enjoy a delicious dinner with friends while overlooking the nearby islands of Gozo and Comino. The staff are friendly and helpful, and make the best cocktails in the area. The chilled out music makes the setting even better, and this is the beach paradise that you dream of when looking for the ideal getaway.

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as for a few evening drinks, the restaurant serves everyone's favourites including pizza, pasta, steaks and fish dishes. There are many regular customers, which is always a good sign of quality, and the friendly service would make you want to come back again too. The staff and regulars are always happy to have a chat with new customers and make everyone feel right at home.
While the sun is still shining and the weather is still beautiful in September, make the most of Paradise Bay Lido restaurant. This casual dining venue is situated at the beach and is a great spot for a swim, sunbathe and a relaxing bite to eat or cup of coffee. Eating on the terrace in the warm sun is a great way to spend your time in the resort. The food is freshly prepared and includes dishes such as salads, sandwiches, burgers and more. The staff are friendly, and this is a great spot to enjoy an evening walk, watch the sunset and have a light meal as well.
