Things to do in Marsa Alam in March

Mons Claudianus

A trip to Marsa Alam will not be complete without a visit to Mons Claudianus. Prisoners of the Roman Empire used to mine the mountains for black quartz diorite that they used as building materials throughout the Roman Empire. Still visible in the area are remnants of the Roman Penal Colony established there, including their stable, workshops and apartments, and the steam baths. In fact, the hot springs are still there up to this day.

Aquatico Water Park

The seas are still not ideal for diving, so you might as well look for some fun aside from swimming in some of the beautiful beaches in Egypt. The Aquatico Water Park in Marsa Alam is located 38 kilometres from the International Airport. The kids and even you will surely love and enjoy the Tsunami Slide, Multislide, Free Fall Slide and the Giant Slides. They have huge swimming pools as well, while comfy sun beds are sprawled all over the area.

Royal Valley Golf Club & Valley of the Kings

Another fun activity for landlubbers to enjoy is a round of golf at the Royal Valley Golf Club in Luxor.  Luxor is a city in Egypt located about 4 hours away from Marsa Alam. The Royal Valley Golf Club is an 18-hole championship course designed by world renowned architect Arthur Davis. Do not fret about not having your golf clubs with you for the club has some for rent. Make sure to spend an extra day in Luxor to explore the pyramids and all other ancient monuments that dot the Valley of the Kings.
